The Hazleton Cougars, who beat the Pittston (35-14)  for a sixth consecutive time, claimed the 100th win in Hazleton Area High School football history.

 

Franklin Quarterback Julian Wested completed 12 of 18 passes for 255 yards and four TDs. The senior QB now has 29 career TD passes, tying him with Rich Cerro and older brother Nick Wested for the school record.

 

A.J. Fenton, McDowell senior running back, rushed for 178 rushing yards to break Jeff Davis' previous school career record of 3,045 yards. He now has rushed for 3,150 yards in his career.

 

Burrell defeated Apollo-Ridge, 42-15 to give Bucs coach Tom Henderson his 100th career win.

Curtis Markosky’s 95 yard interception return for a touchdown is a new Ligonier Valley High School record for interception returns for a TD.

Danville senior Andrew Shoop threw for 284 yards against Hughesville on Friday, giving him 4,522 yards in his career (in 21 career starts). That breaks Danville’s all-time mark of 4,501 set by Bill Coombe (1986-88).
