Archbishop Wood seniors DE Eric “Scoop” Gardner and OG Cole Evans will spend the next 4 years at West Point as members of the Army Knight football program. Eric held P5 offers from programs such as Penn State, Northwestern, Maryland, Syracuse, Texas A&M, West Virginia and Boston College but decided on West Point as his destination due to the structure and being the number one leadership institution in the country as well as the guaranteed career upon graduation they offer graduates.

His teammate Cole Evans had an offer from Temple but after visiting Army twice he knew in his heart that was the place he could call home for the next 4 years. Cole has 2 grandfathers who are military vets in the Army & Airforce so he will carry on the tradition of having a military man in the family.

Also joining the Wood players is Springfield OT Tyler Klambara. At 6-4 300 he had an offer from Temple as a preferred walk on and Navy offered him a scholarship, but he fell in love with the game day atmosphere and the type of offense Army runs. Tyler is a 2-sport star and will also compete in track & field for the Black Knights upon arriving as a discus & shot-put thrower.
