York-Adams Interscholastic Athletic Association (YAIAA) Division I action:
The Mustangs of South Western (3-1 overall, 1-0 League) defeated the Panthers of Central York (1-3 overall, 0-1 league) 35-14 in league action. The Mustangs gained 287-yards rushing and 127-yards passing for a total of 414-yards of offense. Senior quarterback Brock Geiman completed 8 of 12 passes for the 127-yards and 2 touchdowns, 4 for 91-yards to Noah Staub (including a 57-yard touchdown), and 4 for 36-yards to Jeff Green (including a 15-yard touchdown for the Mustangs. Robby Harbison led the Mustangs rushing attack with 19 carries for 121-yards (including touchdowns of 20 and 2-yards), followed by Michael Johnson, Jr. with 1 carry for 51-yards and a touchdown, Nigel Williams with 6 carries for 46-yards, Miles Francis with 7 carries for 41-yards, Jeffrey Green with 4 carries for 19-yards, Geiman with 3 carries for 9-yards, Tyler Fulmore with 1 carry for 1-yard, Zack Hughes with 1 carry for no yards, and a team loss of 1-yard. Anu Johnson led the Bobcats rushing attack with 66-yards, followed by Shannon Valenti, Jr. with 9-yards, Chris Whack with minus 1-yard, and Taemar Willis with minus 6-yards. Quarterback Valenti, Jr. completed 1 of 6 passes for 7-yards to Johnson for the Bobcats. Gary Gobernik returned a fumble 65-yards for a touchdown, Fernando Flores recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown, recorded a half sack and defended 1 pass, Cameron Artman kicked 2 extra points, Mason Kling recovered a fumble and returned it 9-yards, caused 1 fumble, and recorded a half sack, Adam Kip recorded 1.5 sacks, Shamari Young recorded 1 sack, Fred Mulbah blocked a field goal attempt, Michael Cooper defended 3 passes, Rehn Williams caused 1 fumble, and Willis defended 1 pass, for the Bobcats. The Rockets of Spring Grove (2-3 overall, 1-1 league) defeated the Colonials of New Oxford (1-4 overall, 0-2 league) 37-7 in league action. Ryan Daugherty led the Rockets rushing attack with 84-yards (including a 41-yard touchdown), followed by A.J. Fridinger with 44, Nick Erickson with 41 (including touchdowns of 3, 3, and 8-yards), L.J. Chisolm with 21, and Jake Messersmith with 7-yards. The Eagles of Dover (3-2 overall, 2-0 league) edged the Golden Knights of Eastern York (2-3 overall, 0-2 League) 7-6 in league action. Tad Pequignot led the Eagles rushing attack with 48-yards (including a touchdown of 1-yard), followed by Durran Ledbetter with 48, Brett Mohn with 45-yards, and Joey Zutell with minus 5-yards. Quarterback Pequignot complete 1 of 9 passes for 5-yards to Derek Brenneman for the Eagles. Josh Bradley kicked 1 extra point and Rahmeire Bradshaw recorded a sack for the Eagles. Logan Kline led the Golden Knights rushing attack with 163-yards (including a 2-yard touchdown,) followed by Brennen Shenk with 58, Ryan Kalke with 45, Sam Pollock with 34, Jimmy Kurnik with 2-yards, and a team loss of 37-yards. Quarterback Kalke attempted 2 passes and did not complete any, for the Golden Knights. A blocked extra point attempt after the Golden Knights touchdown was the difference in the game.
The Trojans of York Suburban (3-2 overall, 1-0 league) defeated the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3 Mountaineers of Ephrata (0-5 overall, 0-1 league) 38-6 in non-league action. Dajour Henderson led the Trojans rushing attack with 82-yards (including touchdowns of 23 and 23-yards), followed by Teague Hoffman with 49 (including a 1-yard touchdown), Jadon Haynes with 38, Jake Taylor with 10, Justin Gettle with 9, Travis Edwards with 9-yards, Adrian Sanchez with no yards, and Ben Igo with minus 1-yard. Quarterback Merkle completed 8 of 14 passes for 146-yards and 2 touchdowns, 4 for 102-yards to Colin Mailman (including touchdowns of 13 and 63-yards), 3 for 29-yards to Brad Smith, and 1 for 15-yards to Haynes, and Igo completed 1 of 4 passes for 6-yards to Hoffman, for the Trojans. The Nighthawks of Hanover (5-0 overall, 2-0 league) defeated the Fighting Irish of York Catholic (1-4 overall, 1-1 league) defeated the 20-13 in league action. Jordan Laughman led the Nighthawks rushing attack with 123-yards, followed by Justin Barnes with 59, Resean Williams with 13, Bill Morris with 11, and Nick Seymour with 10-yards. Quarterback Kyle Krout completed 5 of 10 passes for 55-yards and 1 touchdown, 1 for 29-yards and a touchdown to Williams, 2 for 12-yards to Colton Ehrhart, 1 for 9-yards to Luis Lara, and 1 for 5-yards to Laughman, for the Nighthawks. Devon Bell returned a blocked field goal 90-yards for a touchdown, Bill Morris recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown and recorded a safety with a tackle in the end zone, and Williams intercepted a pass, for the Nighthawks. Dan Yokemick led the Fighting Irish rushing attack with 99-yards, followed by Jakkar Kinard with 54-yards, and Brandon Creisher with no yards. Quarterback Yokemick completed 14 of 27 passes for 164-yards and 2 touchdowns, 8 for 120-yards to Joe Bauhof (including touchdowns of 43 and 32-yards), 4 for 22-yards to Creisher, and 2 for 22-yards to Luke Brennan, for the Fighting Irish. Tavian Dorsey led the Squires rushing attack with 167-yards (including touchdowns of 65 and 18-yards), followed by Sean Sneeringer with 60, Zachary Hart with 50-yards (including touchdowns of 1 and 17-yards), and Brian Shermeyer with minus 2-yards. Quarterback Shermeyer completed 1 of 2 passes for 14-yards to Sneeringer for the Squires. Bobby Shelly led the Polar Bears rushing attack with 123-yards (including an 80-yard touchdown), followed by Curtis Robison with 32, Michael Kearney with 10-yards, and Justin Markle with minus 1-yard. Quarterback Robison completed 1 of 6 passes for 9-yards to Shelly for the Polar Bears. Aidan Alves kicked 2 field goals, for 30 and 26-yards, and 1 extra point, Shelly intercepted 1 pass, Owen Blaschak and Devin Reed each recorded a sack, and Robison defended 1 pass, for the Polar Bears.
