Sunday May 29th at 6:30 the large school PSFCA East West All Star game will kickoff at Bishop McDevitt’s Rocco Ortenzio Stadium in Harrisburg. This year’s game some of the best high school football players in Pennsylvania, the rosters are littered with Division I college signees. This is the second year for the new format of two PSFCA East West games, at 12:30 the small school game featuring players from 1A-2A-3A will tee it up, with the large school teams 4A-5A-6A kicking off at 6:30.

The East team’s Head Coach will be Jim Chapman, the Head Coach of Philadelphia’s Bartram HS, the West squad will be coached by Brasher HS’s Head Coach Andrew Moore. Both teams have practiced the previous two Sundays, getting ready for the game. The East West game started as a complement to the annual BIG33 game in 2001. First contested at Altoona’s Mansion Park, the game travel around the state being played in the West on even numbered years and in the East on odd numbered years, until the format change in 2021 which paired the games with the BIG33 game on Memorial Day weekend.

If you like old school bang it out, 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense, the East squad is not your team. The East team promises to be a wide open spread offense. In an unusual twist the East’s coaching staff decided to not pick any tight ends or fullbacks for the game, instead opting to go with extra wide receivers. The East’s Quarterbacks Logan Klitsch from Conrad Weiser and Manheim Central’s Judd Novak will have their pick of speedy receivers to throw to, Tommy Ortega from Coatesville HS, fresh off his MVP appearance from the Chester County Believe and Achieve Valor Bowl is sure to be one of their main targets.

The West squad will feature a team led by Quarterbacks Cole Boyd of Pine-Richland HS and Brandon Pazzelle of Brashear HS.  Coach Moore should feel comfortable with his school’s field general Pazzelle under center. The West squad also features some massive lineman on both sides of the ball.

The game will be broadcast by PAFootballNesw.com on youtube.
