Last night I made my first ever trip to East Liverpool, to watch Beaver Local host Indian Creek. First I have to say the facilities there is top of the line and the lighting is out of this world, for A high school stadium. The P.A. announcer was amazing. He called the name and number of the ball carrier and the tacklers. I put him up there, with the guy from Bellaire.
Indian Creek was in A third and nine situation when quarterback David Ferroni had to scramble to his left, after he could find nobody opened, he made a nice move to pick up the first down. Things quickly went downhill from there, with the ball being snapped over Jadyn Irizarry’s head on the punt. Irizarry ran back picked up the ball and tried to run but was tackled for a 5-yard loss.
Beaver Local took just 3 plays to go 32 yards for the first score of the game. The scoring play was 15 yards by Caleb White. Chase Flati, showed off his bazooka of A leg to make this a 7-0 game, with 7:25 left in the opening quarter. Then at the 4:49 mark, Beaver Local converted a fourth and nine, with A 37-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Moore from Tanner Johnston. The touchdown came after A 16-yard catch by White. The P.A.T. made this A 14-0 game, with 4:49 left in the quarter. Johnston almost A little later would use his feet to score from 40 yards out. The impressive part of the run was how he read his blocks as well as he did, then took off to score easily. The P.A.T. gave us a 21-0 game. Beaver Local added another score in the quarter when Tommy Warrick picked off A pass and scored on the return, after the P.A.T. this was all of A sudden A 28-0 game. The pick-six came right after Warrick teamed up with Payne Allen to sack Eli Powell. On the ensuing kick off, Irizarry made a nice return to his own 48-yard line.
The Beaver Creek defense was back at it, with Blake Lucas stopping Jeremy Brown for a loss of six yards. After getting the ball back, the Beavers would get A 45-yard touchdown run from Devon Salsberry another P.A.T. made this A 35-0 game, with 5:49 left in the half. Logan Krulik would pick off A pass thrown by Ferroni and return it for another Beavers score. Flati hit the PA.T. to make this a 42-0 game, with 4:49 left in the half. Before the half ended Dylan Moore made a nice one-handed catch, then Michael Belisle recovered A Beaver Creek fumble.
The 2nd half flew by with the running clock rule in effect. In the third quarter, Joe Monte scored the last touchdown of the game on A 18-yard run. The P.A.T. would end the scoring to make this a 49-0 game. Warrick would make the quarter’s last big play when he stopped Irizarry for a 5-yard loss. The fourth had just one play that stuck out to me and that was a fumble recovery by the Redskins Isaac Robinson making the recovery.
