After a two-hour delay Landmark Christian and Crimson Knights were ready to get the battle of Ohio Vs Indiana started. Would either team come out ready to start with the energy that they might have had at four o’clock when the game was supposed to kick-off? That question was answered early when Sam Young scored on a pick-six for Landmark Christian. The point after from #14 Isaac Hoke made this a 7-0 game midway through the opening quarter. Eric Nephew would score on a thirteen-yard run to make this a 14-0 game, with 2:17 left in the quarter. Nephew is listed at 5-5, 150 pounds and possesses the field vision that every good running back needs, to make things happen.

Bradley Braxton made a leaping catch with 6:59 left in the half for a touchdown and just like that the Eagles had a 21-0 lead. Braxton easily out jumped to Knights to make the score. Nephew used the dirty work from his offensive line to make this a 27-0 game, at the 1:53 mark. The rest of the half flew by rather quickly with both defenses standing strong.

In the third quarter, Justin Wilson hit Eric Fink for an 80-yard score to make this a 33-0 game to end the third quarter.
The entire third quarter involved both defenses giving the offenses plenty of problems. Even though the outcome was long decided, it was the effort put forth by the Knights, that stuck out to me. Those young men never let on that they were done and as a fan, it was applauded.

The fourth quarter would see Braxton return a punt for a touchdown, Nephew would plow in for another score and that would bring us to the 47-0 final score that we had.

A special shout out to the head coach of the Eagles, Mike Goodpaster for taking the time to speak with me. You sir are good people in my book. Also, I have to say a gigantic thank you to athletic director Chris Young for texting me the player’s names who scored in the first half. Thank you to Laura Wells the secretary at Landmark Christian for giving me the names of the two missing players.
