Q&A

What made you choose football?

I chose football because I grew up watching the game. I love everything about it from the family. The team becomes the hard hits and glory.

What’s your favorite football memory?

It’s hard to pick my favorite football memory, but it probably would be winning the playoff game against Reynolds.

What activities do you enjoy outside of playing football?

Outside of football, I enjoy wrestling, fishing, hunting, and hanging with friends.

What non-football accomplishment are you most proud of?

Who is your favorite athlete, and why?

The thing I am most proud of outside of football would have to be being placed in the 2020 PIAA wrestling state championships.

What has been the most difficult part of training during the pandemic, and how did you overcome it?

For me, training during the pandemic became hard because the lack of motivation, something about being around others, and lifting as a team gave me motivation in the past, however, I overcame this by telling myself it would pay off during the season.

Do you prefer offense or defense?

I prefer defense all the way.

Who is your biggest role model?

I’d say my biggest role models are the people who taught me the game and the people who support me in everything I do.

What are your parents most likely to yell from the stands?

Let’s go; Joey is a common saying I am told.

What are your team and personal goals for the season?

I’d say this year to start our team goal should be to win D-10 and make the state playoffs. As a personal goal, I would like to get more pancake blocks and more tackles and improve from last year.

If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would you choose?

I would choose my two late grandparents, one that I never got to meet and my late grandma who was the sweetest people the world ever saw.

What hobby do you have that might surprise people?

I enjoy going to the skatepark with my friends, which people may be surprised that I can do that based on my size.

What’s your favorite sport, other than football, to play or watch?

Wrestling

What is one thing you hope other players can learn from you?

My skills on offense and defense and my persistence to get things right.

What is your expectation of Maplewood football this season?

Do better than last year.

What is your favorite TV show?

I don’t have a favorite show.

What is your favorite movie?

I don’t have a favorite movie.

What is your favorite subject in school?

I enjoy science at school.

What music do you listen to?

I listen to rap, mostly.
