Elon Tops Davidson

Elon rolled off the Stephen Curry Interchange on Saturday afternoon and broke right into his secret sauce, blanking Davidson 38-0. Elon and Davidson engaged in early chaos before Elon proved too much for Davidson. Elon showed success in all three facets of the game: Offense, Defense, and Special Teams.

Elon and Davidson played a pretty even first quarter, both trading field goal attempts but only Elon was successful, taking their 3-0 lead into the second quarter where they exploded for 3 touchdowns to take a 24-0 lead comfortably into halftime. RB Kameron McDowell-Moore added a score from 29 yards out before giving way to two Jimmyll Williams touchdowns to close out the quarter, each from inside the 10 yard line. The second half saw much of the same, QB TJ Crews IV connected with WR Jaedon Alford for a 36 yard strike in the third. Heading into the fourth, Davidson continued to show promise in some of their drives but couldn’t break through the defense of Elon. McDowell-Moore would add another touchdown, this time from just one yard out, capping the game at 38-0 and moving Elon to 2-0 on the season.

Elon’s relentless running attack, combined with untimely miscues on Davidson’s side, created a perfect shutout storm. Elon will face Rhode Island on the road next week. Davidson will remain at home next week to host Dickinson.
