Here are the top performers of the week, along with a couple other tidbits:
Quarterbacks:
Aiden Patton, Brockway, tossed 4 touchdown passes while throwing for 383 yards.
Braylon Wagner, Redbank Valley, tossed the agate for 325 yards and 3 TDs. He also ran for a pair of scores.
Jase Ferguson, Central Clarion, threw for 209 yards and ran for 171 more. He accounted for 5 touchdowns, 3 through the air and 2 on the ground.
Talan Reese, Bradford, had 258 passing yards with 3 TDs.
Shane Magee, Otto-Eldred, threw for 3 scores.
Maddox Hetrick, Punxsutawney, was in on 3 touchdowns when he passed for two and ran for the other.
Colby Barr, Sheffield, accounted for 3 TDs, 1 passing and 2 rushing.
Trey Wingard, DuBois, threw for 243 yards.
Receivers:
Logan Moore, Punxsutawney, caught 10 passes for 120 yards.
Caleb Daugherty, Brockway, came down with 166 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Eli Nellis, Keystone, caught 2 touchdown passes.
Logan Kohler, Bradford, had 165 yards on 8 pass receptions.
Running Backs:
Tony Ceriani, Brookville, almost broke the single game record at Brookville when he carried the ball for 302 yards. Oh, and he scored 5 touchdowns too.
Brady Collins, Clearfield, had himself a night when he rushed for 234 yards and accounted for 6 touchdowns. He scored 4 running the ball, caught a pass for a TD, and had a pick six playing defense.
Aiden Bliss, Port Allegheny, ran for 268 yards and a trifecta of TDs.
Hunter App, Otto-Eldred, had 249 yards rushing and scored 4 times.
Defense and Special Teams:
Thomas Ukert, Central Clarion, booted 8 PATs and kicked a 40-yard FG.
Kieran Fricko, Redbank Valley, 5 PATs.
Malakai Zucal, Cameron County, had a 55-yard punt return for a TD.
Lydell Gibson, Sheffield, returned a fumble 55 yards for a score.
Gibson’s teammate at Sheffield, Tayvion Herring intercepted a pass for a 40-yard touchdown.
Brady Collins, Clearfield, pick six of 39 yards.
Owen Rounsville, Smethport, returned a kickoff 74 yards to the house.
The Karns City Gremlin ‘D’ held Moniteau to -33 yards for the game and zero first downs.
Ben Reynolds, St. Marys, picked up a blocked field goal and ran 80 yards or so for a TD.
Beau Thomas, Punxsutawney, hauled down 12 ball carriers.
Other Notes:
Brockway, Brookville, Central Clarion, Clearfield, Karns City, Port Allegany, Punxsutawney, and Redbank Valley appear to be some of the top teams in District 9 as of the first week of play.
Sheffield snapped their 27-game losing streak by soundly defeating Bucktail 38-6 at Wolverine Mountain.
