2026 District 4 Power Rankings: Week 5 Edition

We are officially at the halfway point of 2026 regular season, five games in the books, and still five left to go. So far we haven’t seen much movement in our rankings at the top, but there was a big jump that happened this week by one team. Two teams dropped out of the rankings this week, those being Muncy and Loyalsock after their losses. Let’s have a look at where each team stands and what new teams joined the rankings this week.
Top 10 Teams
#1: Southern Columbia (5-0)
Last Week: #1
Five straight wins for the Tigers so far, they are now on a 20 game win streak dating back to last season. They took down Central Columbia at home 46-6 last week, and they still look like an unstoppable force that will be searching for their 16th state title come December. The Tigers have possibly their toughest test yet this week, as they go on the road to face #3 ranked Mount Carmel.
#2: Shamokin (5-0)
Last Week: #2
Another week, another dominant victory for the Indians, crushing Central Mountain last week on the road 55-0 to remain undefeated. Shamokin, dating back to 2024, has now won 25 consecutive regular season games, and it doesn’t look like they will be slowing down any time soon. The Indians are back at home this week, facing Selinsgrove.
#3: Mount Carmel (5-0)
Last Week: #3
The Red Tornadoes started slow against Danville, but they caught their stride in the second half, cruising to a 42-21 road victory. Mount Carmel was off to a slow start through the first five weeks of the year in 2025, starting 1-4, but now they sit at 5-0 with one of the best offenses in the district. Mount Carmel will truly be put to the test this week, as they are back home and they will welcome in #1 ranked Southern Columbia.
#4: Bloomsburg (5-0)
Last Week: #4
The Panthers continue to win, taking down Midd-West on the road last week 35-22 marking their first 5-0 start to a season since 2010. Bloomsburg is on a roll right now, and with some of their biggest tests behind them, they will be looking to continue that momentum for the rest of the regular season. The Panthers are on the road again this week taking on Central Columbia.
#5: Shikellamy (4-1)
Last Week: #5 (+4)
Shikellamy had a phenomenal performance at home against Jersey Shore last week, turning a 27-26 third quarter deficit into a 56-27 blowout victory. Possibly the most shocking victory of the week for the Braves, which is enough to propel them all the way up to the number five spot. The Braves stay at home again this week, as they will welcome in Central Mountain.
#6: Line Mountain (5-0)
Last Week: #6
The Eagles had possibly their most dominant victory in school history last week, setting a school record in points in a 69-6 beatdown at home against Camp Hill. Line Mountain finished undefeated in the regular season in 2025, and they are halfway there to achieving the same feat in 2026. The Eagles are back on the road this week against Susquenita.
#7: Montgomery (4-1)
Last Week: #7
Montgomery got a much needed win against Muncy last week, defeating the Indians 30-20 at home to improve to 4-1 on the season. It was a rough loss two weeks ago against now #9 ranked Troy, but the Red Raiders still look like a top contender in the 1A class. Montgomery is at home this week facing Wyalusing.
#8: Athens (4-1)
Last Week: #8
The Wildcats continue to roll offensively, taking down Towanda 48-21 at home for their third straight win. Athens still looks like a top contender in District 4’s 3A class, with their only loss up to this point coming against #9 ranked Troy back in week 2. The Wildcats are back at home again this week, facing Wellsboro.
#9: Troy (4-1)
Last Week: #10 (+1)
The Trojans offense looked incredible last week in their 49-12 victory over Wellsboro, their fourth straight win. Following that opening week loss to Montoursville, this team has caught its stride, and they have looked better and better as the season has gone along. Troy will be looking to keep up the momentum on the road this week against North Penn-Mansfield.
#10: Williamsport (4-1)
Last Week: Honorable Mention #1
The Millionaires move back into the top 10 after their gritty 23-8 victory over Selinsgrove. Williamsport is still without star quarterback Tevin Williams, but as of now they haven’t really missed a beat, especially on offense with Zion Hughes filling in for Williams. The Millionaires have another tough test this week, going on the road to face Jersey Shore.
Honorable Mentions
HM #1: Jersey Shore (3-2)
Last Week: #5 (-6)
Well that was quite the shock for the Bulldogs, and for a lot people. In a game where Jersey Shore led 27-26 in the third quarter, they completely collapsed down the stretch, allowing 30 unanswered points to lose 56-27, dropping them all the way from the number 5 spot. Jersey Shore will try to get back on track this week at home against #10 ranked Williamsport.
HM #2: Mifflinburg (3-2)
Last Week: Not Ranked
Mifflinburg moves back into the rankings following a thrilling 32-27 victory over Loyalsock. The Wildcats earned their second straight win, and they have definitely reestablished themselves as a contender in District 4’s 3A class. Mifflinburg stays at home once again this week, as they will welcome in Warrior Run.
HM #3: Montoursville (3-2)
Last Week: Not Ranked
Montoursville has finally made their way back into the rankings after back to back shutout victories over Central Columbia and Milton. The Warriors entered the 2026 season as one of the favorites to win the district title in 3A, and after some tough losses to start the year, they look like they are right back on that path. They will be on the road this week against Danville.
