Other Tidbits:

  • Caleb Daugherty of Brockway became the Rovers’ all-time leading receiver for yardage and District Nine’s career yardage receiver.  He has a total of 3,178 yards to date with more to come.
  • Central Clarion’s 73 points in a playoff game against Moniteau is apparently a D-9 playoff record for points scored.
  • Central Clarion’s offense piled up 633 yards against Moniteau.
  • Keystone and Brockway have won 8 straight football games and may be heading for a showdown in the 1A championship game.
  • Dom Corcetti, Eli Nellis, and Bryce Mount of Keystone all made history in the Panthers’ game with Titusville.  Corcetti is now Keystone’s all-time career leader in touchdown passes with 57.  Nellis became their new leader in receiving yards with 1,618.  Mount is now the career holder of PATs made with 63.
  • Smethport has won 7 consecutive games after falling to Port Allegany in week two.  The Hubbers will meet the Gators again this week in the playoffs.

Game(s) of the Week:

  • Westmont, from District 6, beat Clearfield 21-0 in an LHAC crossover game.  Westy scored in the first quarter and again in the second to take a 14-0 lead.  Clearfield got on the board before halftime to cut the Hilltopper lead in half.  The Bison came out of the break and asserted their authority by completely dominating the third quarter and tying the game at 14.  Early in the final frame of action, Clearfield took the lead but missed the extra point which proved to be the game’s deciding factor scorewise.  Westmont finally put something together, which they had not since early in the second stanza.  On a 3rd down and 17, they completed a long pass for a first down and eventually rode that momentum to score with only 2:20 remaining.  The Hilltoppers converted the PAT and intercepted a Clearfield pass to win the nail-biter in dramatic fashion, ruining Clearfield’s chance to not have a losing regular season record.

Upset of the Week:
