The Philadelphia Public League opened the 2026 season with two of its older programs taking the field Friday afternoon. Central High the host would jump out early on Olney to a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter after forcing a turnover on downs. Olney did not back down returning the ensuing kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown to cut the lead to 7-6.

Central utilized a dynamic backfield of two explosive rushers in seniors Tyrone Johnson and Brock Thomas who both scored touchdowns in between a shifty 23 yards score from Olney’s quarterback as Central took a 19-14 lead into halftime.

Central wore Olney down in the second half as they added 3 more scores to expand the lead to what would be the final score of 39-14. Sr WR Levan White hauled in a beautiful 42 yard pass while also adding in 5 tackles on defense. Brock finished the day with over 100 yards rushing.
