The reigning Pioneer Athletic Conference Champions, Spring- Ford Rams (District 1) hosts and takes down their counterpart in the District, Souderton Indians, with a final score 31-14 to the home team.
Souderton started to scoring immediately with a 65-yard touchdown caught by senior Alex Whitcomb on the games first play. Spring-Ford was able to respond as Jackson Wickerhsham, junior, found the end zone for a touchdown. The Rams went for a 2-point conversion following a penalty, but were stopped by Souderton’s defense. Souderton led it 7-6 after quarter 1.
A 2-yard touchdown by senior Micah Schirripa added to the Indians’ lead making it 14-6. Jackson Wickersham had another answer, this time the equalizer after catching a 6-yeard touchdown from quarterback Kaden Pickersgill. The Rams and Indians were tied at 14 after the first half.
The Rams came out of the locker rooms with the football and scored for their first lead. Randell Muluh, junior, scored on a first and goal situation which gave Spring-Ford a 21-14 advantage. The Rams added on with a field goal to pat their lead. Jackson Wickersham, once again, scored for Spring-Ford, this time on the defensive side of the ball with a pick six to cap off a stellar performance.
Next week, Spring-Ford (1-0) will go visit Exeter Township (1-0), while Souderton (0-1) remains on the road to take on one-win Pennridge Rams.
