Father Judge pulls off a miracle comeback over Ryan in OT

Father Judge started the game off in a hole down 6-0 after giving up a 80 yard touchdown run by Kaz Kelly on the first offensive play of the game. Judge got on the board with a field goal after a great drive spearheaded by Sr RB Robert Gormley to cut the lead to 6-3 to end the first quarter. The third quarter was a defensive struggle with both teams forcing turnovers and failing to find traction on offense outside of a field goal by Judge to tie the game at 6. Late in the fourth quarter Ryan finally capitalized on a Judge turnover to take a 13-6 lead. Judge offense could not find any rhythm and Ryan seemed destined to walk away with a win. However 1:20 left in the game Ryan looked to run the clock out with possession inside the Judge 30 yard line and the ball carrier fumbled while pushing for extra yardage and Judge miraculously recovered and ran 60 yards to get into the red zone setting up a short touchdown run to tie the game with just under a minute remaining.

Ryan opted to run the clock out and play for overtime while also receiving the ball first in the extra session. What started off as a promising drive stalled and out came the field goal unit. The kick would end up blocked and Judge offense would gain a few yards setting up what was the game winning kick on 3rd down. With the win Judge retook the series lead on the Ryan Raiders while also holding neighborhood bragging rights for the next year. Up next for Ryan is a non-league game at Bonner (0-1) while Judge heads to Lansdale Catholic (0-1).
