Athens 49, Cowanesque Valley 13

The Wildcats got back on track against the Indians, crushing Cowanesque Valley 49-13 at home. Athens jumped out to a dominant 42-0 lead at halftime largely thanks to quarterback Conner Davidson. Davidson had a much needed bounce back game after throwing 4 interceptions against Troy last week, scoring 6 total touchdowns on the game and not committing any turnovers. Davidson threw for 76 yards a 3 touchdowns while also running for 190 more yards and 3 more touchdowns. Both of the Indians touchdowns came in the second half after all the damage had already been done, scoring on a kickoff return touchdown in the third quarter and a 75 yard run by Bo Adams in the fourth quarter. Athens’ defense held Cowanesque Valley to 161 total yards on the game as well.

Troy 23, Towanda 7 

Troy was locked in a defensive battle with Towanda through the first half, taking a 7-0 lead into the break. The Trojans pulled in away in the second half, beating the Black Knights 23-7 at home. Troy’s defense shined in this game, holding an offense that had scored 101 points through the first two weeks of the season to just 7 points. Troy’s defense also forced 6 turnovers in the game, recovering 4 fumbles and picking off  Towanda’s quarterback Reese Sluyter twice. Spencer Martin was very efficient for Troy, going 10/11 for 143 yards on the game, his only pass that wasn’t completed was an interception. Martin also ran for 38 yards and a touchdown on the game while running back Evan Allen ran for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jazick Brown scored Towanda’s only touchdown in the third quarter while totaling 70 rushing yards as well on the game. Micah Pesesky had a standout performance defensively for Troy, recovering 2 fumbles and recording an interception as well.

Loyalsock 35, Wellsboro 7

After such a tightly contested loss to Bloomsburg last week, Loyalsock dominated Wellsboro at home winning 35-7. The Lancers dominated the first half, going up 20-0 in the first quarter and taking a 27-0 lead into halftime. Ivan Baker had a very impressive performance on the ground for the Lancers, rushing for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries. Dyson Dupont had another good performance through the air, going 10/15 for 105 yards and a touchdown, including 31 more yards on the ground. Loyalsock’s defense held Wellsboro to just 175 total yards, compared to the Lancers’ 364 total yards, as well as holding a shutout bid until late in the fourth quarter. The Hornets’ lone score in the game came on a 60 yard touchdown run from quarterback Griffin Morral with just 3 and a half minutes left in the game. Morral went 5/14 for just 54 yards on the game while rushing for 84 yards on 13 carries.

Northwest Area 41, North Penn-Mansfield 27

The Rangers after three games in 2026 have already surpassed their 2025 win total. Northwest Area took down North Penn-Mansfield 41-27 at home improving their record to 3-0, one year after finishing the year with a 2-8 record. The rushing attack for Northwest Area looked very good, racking up 341 total yards on the game. Senior running back Loegan Ditz led the way with 126 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Junior Noah Ammett also scored a touchdown on the ground, while rushing for 97 yards on just 5 carries. Senior running back Robby Voyton ran for 56 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 carries. Quarterback Cole Cavuto also had a nice game for himself, going 5/13 for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air. Seniors Ben Bonham and Zaiden Meeker both caught touchdown passes on the game as well. The Panthers struggled offensively until the fourth quarter, as Northwest Area held a 35-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Sophomore quarterback Peyton Greene was the engine behind the offense, both through the air and on the ground. Greene wasn’t very efficient throwing the ball, going 11/31 for 188 yards and an interception, however he did throw 3 touchdowns in the game. Greene also ran for a touchdown along with 128 yards on 12 carries.

Muncy 56, Sayre 0

Muncy cruised their way past the Redskins on the road, rolling to a dominant 56-0 victory. The Indians had the definition of a full team effort against Sayre, especially in the running game, as they rushed for 314 total yards without a single player rushing for more than 75 yards. Junior running back Layken Harris was the leader in rushing yards and touchdowns, taking 5 carries for 74 yards and 3 touchdowns on the game. Jermain Morgan also ran for touchdown on his 5 carries for 57 yards. Freshman quarterback Noah Walters went 5/8 for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air in the game, as well as adding 41 yards on the ground on just 3 carries. Noah Weikle also had a nice game through the air going 5/10 for 83 yards and a touchdown, as well as adding a score on the ground on his 5 carries for 57 yards. Senior Nathan Rogers led the receiving game with 103 yards and a touchdown on 4 receptions. Cullen Reed and Drew Ryder also caught touchdowns in the game for the Indians. Rogers and Ryder also got interceptions on the game defensively, while Jermain Morgan also recorded a third interception for Muncy’s defense.

Canton 41, Wyalusing 0

The Warriors got a big time bounce back win after their blowout loss to Montgomery last week. Canton got a shutout victory at home 41-0 over Wyalusing. The defense had an incredible performance, not only holding Wyalusing off of the scoreboard entirely, but also holding the Rams to just 103 total yards of offense. Owen Moore had a nice game through the air, going 9/21 for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns, as well as adding another touchdown on the ground. Jaiden Ortiz also ran for a touchdown in the game. Bailey Gardener opened the game with a 98 yard kickoff return touchdown, as well as catching a touchdown pass from Moore. Rylan Wesneski led the receiving game with 79 yards and 2 touchdowns on 2 catches.

Montrose 55, Columbia Montour Vo-Tech 6

Another tough loss for the Rams in week 3, as they fall to Montrose on the road 55-6. Montrose’s defense held the Rams off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter, leading 34-0 in the proccess. Vo-Tech’s only touchdown came on a 50 yard connection between Cody Zimmerman and Blake Sponenberg. That 50 yard pass was Zimmerman’s only completion on the game, as he went 1/4 through the air. Sophomore Jaxson Hartman also failed to complete a pass, going 0/5 with 2 interceptions. Zimmerman was the team’s leading rusher on the game, racking up 33 yards on 8 carries. Montrose’s defense held the Rams’ offense to just 128 total yards on the game.

Williamsport 34, Central Mountain 10

The Millionaires are off to good start to the 2026 season, winning their third straight game by three scores or more. Williamsport dominated Central Mountain on the road, winning 34-10 and improving to 3-0 on the year. This is now three straight weeks of very impressive performances from quarterback Tevin Williams who accounted for 3 of Williamsport’s 5 touchdowns in the game. Williams was 16/23 for 191 yards and a touchdown through the air, as well as rushing for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 carries. Zion Hughes accounted for the Millionaires other 2 scores, rushing for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries. Trey Damschroder was the leading receiver, hauling in 6 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. Williamsport’s defense held Central Mountain’s offense to just 92 total yards and allowing just 3 points through the first three quarters. The defense also sacked Central Mountain quarterback Kyle Everett 4 times, including 3 of them coming from Cordoza Minor.

Shamokin 37, Shikellamy 0

Shamokin shut down the Braves’ offense entirely, as well as handing them their first loss of the season, beating them at home 37-0. The Indians’ defense was dominant in the shutout victory, holding Shikellamy’s offense to 111 total yards, including negative 2 total rushing yards. Shikellamy’s defense held Shamokin offense in check for a while, holding them to just 17 points in the first half, but Shamokin ran away with the game in the second half. The Indians had another strong performance on the ground, running for 371 total yards in the game. Noah Ringes had a breakout performance, racking up 170 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries. Logan Steele struggled throwing the ball, going just 3/13 for 86 yards, however he made up for it on the ground, running for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns on 13 carries. Shamokin’s defense picked off Shikellamy quarterback Brady Kurtz twice, including a 66 yard pick six by Ryan Bickert in the fourth quarter that sealed the win. Kurtz struggled through the air, going 7/19 for just 68 yards and those 2 interceptions mentioned earlier. Sophomore Bobby Felmy went 5/13 for 53 yards through the air as well.

Jersey Shore 49, Selinsgrove 7

After a lower scoring win against Montoursville last week, Jersey Shore rediscovered their offensive firepower against Selinsgrove, winning 49-7 at home. The Bulldogs took a commanding 28-7 lead into halftime and never looked back in the second half. Quarterback Nolen Pauling accounted for 4 touchdowns in the game, 3 through the air and 1 on the ground. Pauling went 14/23 for 277 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions, while also rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Zeke Sechrist led the rushing attack with 76 yards and 2 touchdowns on 13 carries. One of Pauling’s touchdown passes came on some trickery where he connected with Carter Rhinehart who pitched the ball back to Connor Winters who raced into the end zone. Rhinehart, Winters, and Khani McCray all recorded touchdown receptions in the game. Selinsgrove was held to just 119 total yards in the game, as well as Jersey Shore’s defense picking off Rocco Amato twice. Amato threw for just 59 yards in the game, but he did score the team’s only touchdown on a 2 yard run.

Mount Carmel 48, Milton 14

The Red Tornadoes’ offense is rolling through the first three weeks of the year, as Mount Carmel powered their way to a 48-14 home victory over Milton. Mount Carmel has actually scored point totals of 48, 47, and 48 in the first three weeks of the season, helping them to a 3-0 start. The rushing game looked as effective as always, totaling 256 yards and 5 touchdowns in the game. Jaylen Delaney had his first game as a quarterback where he completed more than one pass, going 3/6 for 56 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Cooper Karycki was the focal point, taking his 6 carries for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns, both of which led the team. Delaney, Jason Klokis, and Jaxon Boblick all ran for touchdowns as well, racking up yardage totals of 34, 29, and 22 respectively. Milton just could not keep up offensively in this game, as they went down 28-0 before finding the end zone for the first time. Brody Locke led Milton’s ground game, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while Brady O’Rourke also scored a 1 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Sophomore quarterback Kamryn Wilson went 6/12 for 119 yards though the air in the game, but Mount Carmel ultimately outgained Milton 298 to 197 in total offense.

Southern Columbia 48, Montoursville 13

Southern Columbia crushed the Warriors, getting back to their usual dominant form and beating Montoursville at home 48-13. The Tigers were up 41-0 late in the game before Montoursville’s offense finally found the end zone. Defensively the Tigers suffocated the Warriors’ offense through the first three quarters, holding their rushing attack to negative yardage while their starters were still on field. The Tigers racked up 546 total yards offensively in the game, with 370 of them coming on the ground. Grady Garcia led the way with 189 yards and 3 touchdowns on 17 carries, while sophomore Kane Cecco also rushed for a touchdown on a 43 yard carry. Senior quarterback Ayden Hockenbroch went 8/10 for 176 yards and 3 touchdowns throwing the ball, as well as adding 44 yards on the ground. Blaise Kissinger hauled in most of the passes, catching 5 of them for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns while Jace Malakoski caught the other touchdown. Most of Montoursville’s offense came after the game was already out of reach. Eli Eck went 10/18 for 160 yards through the air, and added just 3 yards on the ground on 4 carries. The rushing attack as a whole was held to 62 total yards, Colton Conklin being the most productive of the group racking up 38 yards and 2 touchdowns on 7 carries.

Danville 52, Central Columbia 3

After being on the wrong end of a blowout against Shamokin, Danville was on the right end of one against Central Columbia, cruising to a 52-3 road victory. The rushing attack was dominant in the victory, as the Ironmen racked up 338 total yards on the ground. Junior running back Ben Nye led the way with 101 yards and 2 touchdowns on 13 carries. Senior wide receiver Braxtyn Gerardi rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on just 3 carries. Macon Patrick through the air went 3/7 for 56 yards and threw both a touchdown and an interception, while also adding 57 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Danville’s defense held the Blue Jays off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter, as well as picking off sophomore quarterback RJ Kressler once. Kressler did go 11/21 and throw for a career high 100 yards in the loss.

Bloomsburg 38, Mifflinburg 14

Mifflinburg was in control of this game in the first quarter, but after Bloomsburg took a 17-14 lead into halftime, the Panthers scored 21 points in the third quarter, powering them to a 38-14 win over Mifflinburg. The Panthers took advantage of Mifflinburg’s mistakes in the second half which allowed them to pull away from the Wildcats. Quarterback Shane Frey had a very impressive performance, going 14/23 for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air, while also leading the team in rushing with 84 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Jharee Moore-Stewart also did well on the ground, rushing for 52 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Julius Serrano led the receiving game with 6 catches for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns, with Brayden Holbert also catching a touchdown as well. Mifflinburg quarterback Brennen Snyder was efficient in the first half, but struggled in the second half, finishing 9/25 for 168 yards and a touchdown. Snyder also led the team in rushing with 49 yards and a touchdown on 4 carries.

Warrior Run 42, Midd-West 7

The Defenders cruised past Midd-West for their third straight win, beating the Mustangs 42-7 at home. Unlike last week when they allowed Central Mountain to stay in the game until the fourth quarter, Warrior Run dominated the game start to finish, keeping a shutout bid until late in the fourth quarter. Offensively for Warrior Run, Denyn Beachel had an incredible performance, rushing for 111 yards and a whopping 5 touchdowns on 15 carries. Junior quarterback Logan Stevenson had a good performance through the air, going 11/18 for 246 yards and a touchdown. Bryson Weigel led the receiving game for the Defenders, hauling in 5 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Warrior Run’s defense stifled the Mustangs’ rushing attack, holding the team to 18 total rushing yards. All of Midd-West’s offense came through the air, junior quarterback Witten Carter went 18/39 for 247 yards, along with a touchdown and an interception. Midd-West’s lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter after they were already trailing 42-0, on a 64 yard pass to Konnor Kullman.

Line Mountain 45, Northern Bedford 18

Line Mountain ‘s offense has really picked up the pace after an ugly week 1 showing, this week beating Northern Bedford 45-18 at home to improve to 3-0. The Eagles have shown a lot of versatility on the offensive side of the ball, performing very well as a group rather than having stars leading the way. Three different players threw a touchdown for the Eagles, senior Kaden Dunkelberger, sophomore Preston Derk, and freshman Caden Carson. The three players combined for just 103 yards through the air, but on the ground, the team racked up 331 total yards. Derk lead the team in yards with 80 and a touchdown as well on 10 carries, while Dunkelberger also ran for a touchdown and 54 yards on 10 carries. Sophomore fullback Landis Keefer also ran for a touchdown in the game.

Montgomery 12, South Williamsport 6

In a game that was all about defense thanks to the rainy condition, Montgomery emerged victorious 12-6 at home against South Williamsport. Neither team was able to throw the ball well in this game, thanks to the very poor conditions, but Montgomery was able to control the line of scrimmage better than the Mountaineers were able to. Josh Knoebel was almost the entirety of the Red Raiders’ offense, rushing for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries. Montgomery’s defense held South Williamsport’s offense to just 6 points in the game, after scoring 103 total points in the previous 2 weeks. Sophomore running back Garrett Lorson scored the Mountaineers’ only touchdown in the game on a 30 yard run.

Lewisburg 38, Hughesville 17

The Green Dragons brought an end to a 5 game losing streak that dated back to last season, taking down Hughesville 38-17 at home and tallying their first win of the 2026 season. After getting shutout against Shikellamy last week, the offense found a nice rebound, putting up 38 points, largely thanks to an incredible performance from senior wide receiver Jaylen Walker. Junior quarterback Jett Jamieson also had a phenomenal performance, going 8/13 for 266 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air. Walker hauled in 5 of those passes for 219 yards and 4 touchdowns. Walker also scored a fifth touchdown in the game on a 61 yard punt return in the first quarter. Lewisburg’s 26-10 halftime lead was just too much to overcome for the Spartans as they only scored one touchdown in the second half. Nicholas Stubbs went just 4/13 for 106 yards through the air, throwing both a touchdown and a pick in the loss. Chase Shrawder led Hughesville’s rushing attack, racking up 51 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.
