Rangers Rock Rams in a Tuesday night football special

With both teams looking for a game that both teams needed to replace a canceled game, Northwest Area and Columbia-Montour Vocational Technical School decided to play each other on a Tuesday night.

SHICKSHINNY- The Columbia-Montour Vocational Techinical School Rams and the Northwest Area Rangers had the spotlight all to themselves Tuesday night at Miller and Lewis Stadium in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as the only high school football game on the docket. The Rangers took advantage of some early Rams turnovers and excellent field position to jump it to a 62-0 halftime lead and rolled to a convincing 76-0 win before a packed house.

The Rams took the opening kickoff but a Mason Bilbly Intercepted off a CMVVT pass at the Ram 40. Four plays later Running back Robby Voyton scored from 13 yards out making it a it 7-0with just 4:13 taken off the clock for 7-0 lead.

Bilbly, picked off his second pass on the Rams next drive again at the 40 yard line of C-Mo Tech, from there it took just one play to cover the yardage to end zone as quarterback Cole Cavuto connected with

Wyatt Olowski for another Northwest score making it 14-0 with still 7:55 left in the opening
quarter.

The next time Northwest took possession of the football again Cavuto hooked up with Ben Bonham for a 25 yard pass making the score 21-0 with 4:41 left on the clock.

Loegan Diltz score from 3 yards out, when the punter for the Rams dropped the snap and his knee touched the ground when trying to recover the ball, so Nortwest again started off in great field position. Diltz’s score made it 28-0 with still 1:30 left in the first quarter.

The second quarter began with a one yard Cavuto touchdown run increasing the Northwest lead to 34-0 hen Olowski point-after attempt hit the upright and fell back to the turf

Northwest defense held the Rams again and too over in great field position, the Diltz ripped off a 57 yard score to make it 41-0 with 6:23 left before halftime.

Northwest Area then made it 48-0 when Diltz scored his third touchdown from 19 yards out with just under six minutes before intermission.

Cavuto would hook up with Boone May for another Ranger score at 3:55 mark of the second quarter making it a 55-0 score, but Rangerswere not finished as running back Caleb Ide took it to paydirt from 24 yards out making a it 62-0 at halftime.

The second half was played with eight minute quarters and a running clock. Northwest was not through scoring as Noah Arnett cashed in from 34 yards out and Ide scored his second touchdown from 18 yards out completing the scoring for the night.

Head coach Greg Mullins was happy with his teams’s performance, “Northwest is for real, we didn’t take off our foot off the peddle. We didn’t take Vo-Tech lightly. We executed in all phases of the game. They did great.”

Northwest Area (4-0) will be home for their fourth straight game against Hughesville (0-3) on Friday September 25th. The Spartans will at home with Mifflinburg this Friday night. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech (0-4) will be at Renaissance Academy from District one. The Knights come into the contest 3-0
