BREAKING: Woodland Hills forfeits two games.

CHURCHILL, PA–In a stunning development, the Woodland Hills football team has forfeited two of their three wins after allegations that team used an illegible player according to Mike White of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. These games include their wins over New Castle and North Allegheny.

This is the latest string of incidents involving the Woodland Hills football team this season. Two of their first four games were subject to limited number of attendances due to threats that were made via the Safe2Say system. This included last weeks contest against Fox Chapel. Only parents of players were permitted into the stadium.

In addition, the school district decided to suspend head coach Brian Tarrant over allegations of “WPIAL/PIAA guideline violations”. The decision was approved during WPIAL borad meeting last month.

In a statement WPIAL Executive Director Vince Sortino told White that “Those are mandatory forfeits that can’t be appealed or rescinded.”

Woodland Hills officially has a 1-3 record instead of a 3-1 record. These sudden changes, however, will not affect their chances of a postseason berth as both now forfeited games were non-conference games. Woodland Hills’ loss to Central Catholic will be upheld. Last weeks win against Fox Chapel is now the only official “win” for Woodland Hills.

The player -who was not named- “played before he was deemed eligible to play under transfer rules”, Sortino said.

The player has been confirmed to have played in both the New Castle and North Allegheny contests. Both games are now officially in the record books as 1-0 scores.

In addition both New Castle and North Allegheny’s records improve to 2-2.

Woodland Hills is scheduled to host Greater Latrobe on Friday night at the Wolvarena.
