Indian Land needed only one drive to get on the board Friday night, as quarterback Matt Kucia found Maxwell Curry for a 6-yard touchdown strike to put the Warriors up 7-0. The defense took it from there, forcing back-to-back safeties — one with 52.8 seconds left in the first quarter and another at 10:41 of the second — to push the lead to 11-0 before York’s offense could ever find its footing.
The floodgates opened from there. Jackson Conner took the ensuing free kick 55 yards to the house, extending the lead to 18-0, and Kucia kept the party going through the air. He hit Kenneth Wilson for a 5-yard score to make it 25-0, then connected with Kylan Foye on a 33-yard strike to send Indian Land into halftime up 32-0.
Indian Land tacked on one more score in the third quarter before York finally got on the board, but the touchdown and failed PAT left York six points short of respectability in a 39-6 final. The Warriors improve to 5-1 on the season, while York drops to 2-4.
