Athens 48, Towanda 21

The Wildcats continue to roll offensively, crushing the Black Knights 48-21 at home, marking their third consecutive victory. Athens scored 35 points in the first half and never looked back, reaching 48 points and tallying their third 40+ point game of the season. Connor Davidson had another great performance, going 15/18 for 193 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air, while also rushing for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Backup quarterback Shea Davidson also got some action in the game, going 6/9 for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air. Athens’ defense, while they struggled a bit early on to contain the Black Knights’ offense, came away with 2 interceptions in the game. For Towanda, Jazick Brown had a strong performance despite the loss, leading the team in rushing with 110 yards and a touchdown on 8 carries, as well as leading the team in receiving, hauling in 4 passes for 90 yards.

Troy 49, Wellsboro 12

The Trojans cruised past Wellsboro, crushing the Hornets 49-12 on the road in their best offensive performance of the season. Troy’s 49 points was their highest total of the season, and was the first time that Troy had gone over 40 since the 2025 season. The Trojans led 35-0 over Wellsboro at halftime, largely thanks to their offense that outgained the Hornets 498 to 276 in total yards. Junior quarterback Spencer Martin had his best game of the season so far, going 7/8 for 241 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air. Trey Teribury led the receiving by a wide margin, hauling in 6 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown in the game, with Logan Heasley and Josiah Pesesky also catching touchdowns from Martin. Jayden Kutt ran for 2 touchdowns in the game as well, tacking on 51 yards on 9 carries, and Lucas Kress also rushed for a touchdown for the Trojans. Wellsboro didn’t find the end zone until the second half, with sophomore quarterback Derrick Blasz throwing for 2 touchdowns in the second half, still filling in for the injured Griffin Morral.

Cowanesque Valley 52, North Penn-Mansfield 7

The Indians dominated North Penn-Mansfield in a 52-7 blowout road victory, marking their second straight win. Cowanesque Valley jumped out to a 35-0 lead in the second quarter and didn’t look back, reaching 52 points, their highest point total since their 60-0 victory over Northwest Area in 2025. Dave Hess had a very good performance on the ground, rushing for 126 yards and 3 touchdowns on his 13 carries, all of which led the team. Junior fullback Colton Begely also ran for a touchdown in the game, tallying 48 yards on 13 carries as well. Gavin Churchill went 4/7 for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air, throwing an interception in the game as well. His 2 touchdown passes went to senior Logan Huntington and junior Camden Stahli. The Panthers only touchdown in the game came late in the second quarter on a 35 yard connection between Peyton Greene and Colton Pellett.

Montgomery 30, Muncy 20

After a tough loss to Troy last week, Montgomery got back on track with a 30-20 home victory over Muncy. Montgomery’s defense played a big part in the win, holding Muncy to just 171 total yards in the game, including just 38 in the entire second half. Offensively for the Red Raiders, it was the rushing attack once again doing its thing, racking up 306 total yards. Senior running back Lincoln Miller led the backfield for Montgomery this week, rushing for 124 yards and a touchdown on his 20 carries. Gage Furman and Briar Persing also ran for touchdowns in the win for Montgomery. Trace Furman also had a nice performance on the ground, rushing for 77 yards on his 18 carries. Muncy’s offense mostly ran through sophomore quarterback Noah Weikle, who accounted for 114 of Muncy’s 171 total yards. Weikle went 4/9 for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns and an interception through the air, as well as leading the team in rushing with 49 yards on 7 carries. Seniors Nathan Rogers and Jermain Morgan both caught touchdowns in the game for Muncy.

South Williamsport 56, Canton 0

The Mountaineers found their stride once again against Canton, crushing the Warriors 56-0 at home. Following back to back low scoring losses to Montgomery and Athens, South Williamsport finally got their offense going again, tallying 319 total yards and 8 touchdowns. It was the rushing attack that did most of the damage, combining for 279 yards as a team. Eli White led the way, rushing for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns on 7 carries, while Taylor Naugle also ran for 2 touchdowns and 71 yards on his 5 carries. Cade Lusk also ran for 71 yards and a touchdown on his 10 carries. Colton Paulhamus and Garrett Lorson also ran for touchdowns in the game. The Mountaineers also picked off Canton’s quarterbacks twice, intercepting both Owen Moore and Brooks Wesenski once each.

Hughesville 21, Northwest Area 0

The Spartans finally got their first win of the season, handing previously undefeated Northwest Area their first loss of the season, beating the Rangers 21-0 on the road. Hughesville’s 21-0 win marked their first shutout since week 2 of 2025 when they beat Towanda 32-0. The Spartans offense was powered by their rushing attack, with Chase Shrawder leading the charge with 51 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Junior quarterback Nicholas Stubbs went 4/7 for 45 yards and a touchdown, as well as rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Connor Anstadt was Stubbs’ top target, hauling in 2 passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. Hughesville’s defense, on top of the shutout bid, held Northwest Area’s offense to just 173 yards in the game, their lowest total of the season.

Williamsport 23, Selinsgrove 8

After their crushing 48-44 loss to Shikellamy last week, Williamsport got back to their winning ways, taking down Selinsgrove at home 23-8. The Millionaires’ defense showed out in the win, shutting out the Seals’ offense for the first three quarters of the game, as well as holding them to 192 total yards. Zion Hughes had another good performance in his second career start, going 17/22 for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns. Zamire Hopkins led the Millionaires rushing attack, racking up 133 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. The receiving game was very balanced, Jaylen Lilly led the way hauling in 5 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown, while Trey Damschroder also caught 5 passes for 43 yards and a touchdown. Selinsgrove’s lone score came in the fourth quarter on a touchdown run from Cael Badman. While Badman scored the team’s only touchdown, Issac Thomas was the team leader in rushing yards, tallying 67 yards on 12 carries.

Shikellamy 56, Jersey Shore 27

The Braves were locked in a back and forth duel with Jersey Shore, trailing 27-26 early in the second half. Shikellamy then scored 30 unanswered points, turning a very competitive game into a 56-27 rout at home against Jersey Shore. On top of scoring 30 unanswered points, Shikellamy outscored Jersey Shore 24-0 in the fourth quarter. Almost all of Shikellamy’s offense came through the air, with sophomore quarterback Bobby Felmy going 18/28 for 291 yards and 5 touchdowns in the game. Thomas Pollock was Felmy’s main target, hauling in 12 passes for 225 yards and 4 touchdowns. Felmy’s other touchdown pass went to Maddox Hoover who caught 2 passes for 21 yards and a touchdown. While Jersey Shore quarterback Nolen Pauling also threw for 291 yards and 3 touchdowns in the game, Shikellamy’s defense picked off Pauling 3 times, including 2 pick sixes in the fourth quarter that all but put away the game. Connor Winters was Pauling’s top target, catching 6 passes for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Khani McCray also caught a touchdown as well. Xzavier Baker-Allen and Maddox Hoover were the ones who got pick sixes for Shikellamy.

Shamokin 55, Central Mountain 0

The Indians once again dominated, crushing Central Mountain on the road 55-0, earning their fifth straight win. Shamokin’s defense posted their second shutout of the season, while the offense also reached the 50 point mark for the second time this year. Logan Steele completed all 9 of his pass attempts, throwing for 192 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also adding 51 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The rushing attack as a whole tallied 226 yards and 4 touchdowns, with Steele, Sheldon Sassani, Trey Taylor, and Ryan Bickert all rushing for touchdowns in the game. Bickert also caught a touchdown pass from Steele, while Cru Shroyer and Jazon McLean caught Steele’s other 2 touchdown passes. Shamokin’s defense held Central Mountain’s offense to just 97 yards in the game, as well as picking off quarterback Alex Johnson once.

Montoursville 36, Milton 0

The Warriors earned their second straight shutout victory, blanking Milton 36-0 at home. In all 3 of Montoursville’s wins this season, the defense has played a very large role, and after getting a 48-0 shutout over Central Columbia last week, their defense followed it up with another shutout over Milton. Montoursville, even with the shutout, did not force any turnovers in the win, and Milton racked up 229 yards of total offense. For the Warriors’ offense, quarterback Eli Eck was the focal point, going 15/25 for 229 yards and a touchdown, while also leading the team in rushing yards with 92 and 2 touchdowns on 8 carries. Kaiden Kleinman got the most carries with 15, turning that into 79 yards and 2 touchdowns of his own. Brayden Burkett caught Eck’s lone touchdown pass, hauling in 4 passes for 66 yards, both of which led the team. While Montoursville did not come away with any takeaways, Milton’s defense did get an interception in the loss.

Mount Carmel 42, Danville 21

The Red Tornadoes took just a 14-0 lead over Danville into halftime, however a 28 point third quarter propelled Mount Carmel to a 42-21 victory over Danville. The Ironmen through the first half had contained one of the best offenses in the district to just 14 points thanks to a few key takeaways and fourth down stops. The defense was only able to contain Mount Carmel’s offense for so long, as the flood gates opened in the second half. The Red Tornadoes’ offense tallied 414 rushing yards, powered once again by Jaylen Delaney and Cooper Karycki, who racked up totals of 99 and 98 yards respectively, along with a rushing touchdown each. Delaney went 4/6 for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air, with Karycki and Aiden Brokenshire both catching touchdowns. Danville’s passing game continued to struggle with Macon Patrick out due to injury, with Mason Kingery and Jagger Simpson combining for just 37 passing yards. Ben Ney, Jack Rarig, and Maxx Kitka all ran for touchdowns for Danville in the fourth quarter.

Southern Columbia 46, Central Columbia 6

The Tigers continue to roll, taking down Central Columbia at home 46-6 to continue their undefeated streak. Southern Columbia has now won 20 consecutive games dating back to last season, their last loss came in week 1 of 2025 to Wyomissing. Southern Columbia has also extended their winning streak over Central Columbia to 31 consecutive games, Central Columbia’s last win over the Tigers came back in 1996. Aiden Hockenbroch had another very efficient game through the air, going just 5/6 for 83 yards and 3 touchdowns. Grady Garcia also had another stellar game on the ground, rushing for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 5 carries. Sophomore running back Jacoby Karlovich also ran for a touchdown in the game, with the rushing attack as a whole racking up 414 total yards. Blaise Kissinger and Jace Malakoski both caught touchdown passes from Hockenbroch, with Kissinger catcahing 2 passes for 45 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Malakoski caught 3 passes for 38 yards and a touchdown. Southern Columbia’s defense also took a shutout bid into the fourth quarter, holding the Blue Jays’ offense to just 139 total yards in the process.

Lewisburg 43, Warrior Run 14

The Green Dragons rebounded from their 61-8 blowout loss to Southern Columbia last week, taking down Warrior Run 43-14 on the road. It was a pretty embarrassing performance against the defending state champions last week, but Lewisburg was able to take advantage of a struggling Defenders team for their second win of the season. Xavier Carter was the engine behind the offense for the Green Dragons, going 14/22 for 244 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air, as well as racking up 91 yards and a touchdown on 8 carries on the ground. The ground game was led by freshman running back Ethan Coleman, who ran for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries. Drake Osunde, Jaylen Walker, and Todd Dershem all caught touchdown passes, tallying yardage totals of 136, 66, and 25 yards respectively. Warrior Run continues to struggle after losing both starting quarterback Logan Stevenson and starting running back Denyn Beachel to injury last week.

Bloomsburg 35, Midd-West 22

The Panthers scored 35 points in the first half, propelling them to a 35-22 road victory over Midd-West, their fifth straight win. Bloomsburg with the victory secured a 5-0 record through the first 5 weeks of the season, a record that they had not achieved since 2010. Shane Frey led the offense for Bloomsburg, accounting for 3 of the Panthers’ 5 touchdowns in the game. Frey went 6/10 for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air, while also adding 34 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Jharee Moore-Stewart and Julius Serrano both ran for and caught touchdowns in the game. Midd-West struggled to move the ball in the first half, quarterback Witten Carter threw for just 87 yards in the game. All 3 of Midd-West’s touchdowns came on the ground, courtesy of Jiovaunni Drumheller, Noah Kratzer, and Ronnie Johnson each rushing for a score.

Mifflinburg 32, Loyalsock 27

The Wildcats overcame a couple second half miscues, taking down Loyalsock at home a thrilling 32-27 victory. This game was back and forth all night, with neither team having a lead larger than 8 points. Mifflinburg dominated offensively in terms of yardage, outgaining Loyalsock 518 to 295, but some key errors allowed Loyalsock to remain in the game. Mifflinburg had 3 turnovers in the game, while the Lancers only had 1, but that lone turnover came in the most crucial moment of the game that allowed the Wildcats to hold on late. The Wildcats offense was powered by their rushing attack, specifically senior running back Landon Moser, who finished the night with 219 yards and 3 touchdowns on 24 carries. Quarterback Brennen Snyder also ran for a touchdown, adding on 36 yards on 9 carries. Although Snyder threw 2 interceptions, he still was very efficient throwing the ball going 7/11 for 170 yards and a touchdown. Snyder’s touchdown pass went to Cameron Schneck on a 27 yard completion, his only reception in the game. Loyalsock’s quarterback Dyson Dupont, fresh off of a 6 touchdown performance a week ago, went 10/24 for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns, as well as leading the team in rushing with 116 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Zion Cobb was Dupont’s top target, hauling in 4 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown, while Matthew Rickard also caught a touchdown.

Smethport 49, Bucktail 20

The Bucks continue to struggle, as they fell 49-20 on the road to Smethport who is now 4-1 on the season. Bucktail is now 0-4 on the season, with this loss being their worst of the season so far. Smethport took a 42-6 lead into halftime, largely thanks to their rushing attack that racked up 412 total yards. Jude Kisko did the most damage, running for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 7 carries, with Aiden and Trent Tanner both rushing for touchdowns as well. Bucktail scored twice in the fourth quarter after the game was out of reach, which brought their final point total to 20, this being the third time this season that the Bucks’ offense reached the 20 point mark. Bucktail’s defense gave up 532 total yards of offense, along with 49 points, which is the first time this season that the Bucks’ defense gave up more than 32 points.

Line Mountain 69, Camp Hill 6

The Eagles had their most dominant victory yet, crushing Camp Hill at home 69-6 to remain undefeated through the first 5 weeks of the year. Line Mountain has now won 16 consecutive regular season games dating back to 2024, with their last loss also coming to Camp Hill in week 9 of the 2024 season. The Eagles also set a school record for the most points scored in a single game with 69. Line Mountain’s ground game had another great performance, tallying 285 total yards and accounting for 7 touchdowns. 6 different players ran for a touchdown in the win, with Preston Derk leading the way with 79 yards and 2 touchdowns, the only player on the team that ran for more than 1. Niam Braswell, Cam Shingara, Luke Malfara, Kaden Dunkelberger, and Haven Witmer all rushed for a touchdown in the victory. Derk also went 5/11 for 134 yards and a touchdown through the air, connecting with Malfara for his only touchdown pass of the game. Line Mountain’s defense also racked up 15 tackles for loss and 2 sacks in the win, taking a shutout bid into halftime before losing it in the third quarter.

Sayre 41, Wyalusing 12

The Redskins got a dominant 41-12 road victory over Wyalusing, improving their record to 2-3 on the season. The win for Sayre was their second consecutive victory, which is the first time that Sayre has won back to back games since the 2021 season. Sayre also hasn’t finished with more than 1 win in a season since 2021, when the Redskins went 5-6. Sayre’s defense pitched a shutout of Wyalusing in the second half, including a key interception in the third quarter that led to a quick score for the Redskins. Hudson Malanoski led the way for Sayre’s offense, rushing for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also adding 29 receiving yards to his totals. Braydan Northrup also ran for a touchdown in the game, tallying 43 rushing yards on 6 carries. The Rams remain winless on the year, as their record drops to 0-5.

Holy Cross 41, Columbia Montour Vo-Tech 16

The Rams continue to struggle, falling to Holy Cross at home 41-16, their sixth straight loss of the season. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech remains winless on the season, however they did post a season high in points with 16. The Rams also had a very good performance on the ground, rushing for 271 total yards, led by Liam Patraw who rushed for 114, and Blake Sponenburg who rushed for 95. Sponenburg also accounted for both of the Rams’ touchdowns in the game. The Rams did not throw the ball at all in the game, largely due to the weather conditions that were present throughout the game, with rain coming down for most of the contest.
