Grove City 62, Conneaut 19

Gavin Purdy ran for 147 yards on eight carries and scored four touchdowns as Grove City improved to 5-1 with a 62-19 win over Conneaut. Purdy scored on runs of 14, 28, 2, and 55 yards. His 14-yarder opened the scoring, followed by Andres Navarro’s 30-yard interception return. The Eagles made things interesting, tying the game in the second quarter on Jake Geer’s 5-yard reception from Mason Stone and Aidan Ford’s 4-yard run. However, Grove City exploded for four consecutive scores to break the game open at halftime. Purdy scored on 28- and 2-yard runs, while Heath Hohman connected with Heath Werhnyak on an 18-yard touchdown and Austin Gothe on a 17-yarder. Hohman completed 8 of 12 passes for 154 yards. The mercy clock went into effect in the third quarter on Purdy’s 55-yard run. Keith Vandergrift added a 94-yard scoring run, while Easton Culmer added a 7-yard touchdown for Grove City, who led 62-13 in the fourth quarter. Brayden Feeney closed the scoring with a 5-yard run for Conneaut, who got 144 yards passing from Stone.

Oil City 57, Warren 0

After getting shut out by Cathedral Prep last week, Oil City put up eight touchdowns against Warren to blank the Dragons 57-0 Thursday night and stop their 3-game skid. Tycen Sindlinger and Carter Thompson combined to rush for 221 yards and six touchdowns for the Oilers. Thompson opened the scoring with a 5-yard run, then added a 16-yard run. The Oilers capped the first quarter with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Marchinke to Logan Heath. Sindlinger added a 2-yard run, giving the Oilers a 28-0 halftime lead. Sindlinger then added a 24-yard touchdown, and Thompson added a 10-yard run, extending the lead to 42-0 after three quarters. Sindlinger and Declan Cunningham closed the scoring with 32- and 46-yard runs. Sindlinger led the Oilers with 166 yards on 21 carries, while Thompson had 55 yards on seven carries. Blake Stevens added 89 rushing yards.

October 2, 2026

Hickory 36, Erie 15

Quarterback Christian Dungee threw three first-half touchdowns to lead Hickory to victory over Erie. Erie struck first to open the scoring, but Dungee quickly tied the game at 7-7 with a 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Hickory took the lead for good later in the period when Dylan Gardner broke free for a 13-yard scoring scamper, making it 13-7. The Hornets opened the second quarter and extended their lead to 29-7 by halftime. Dungee targeted the end zone twice through the air, connecting with Jadon Phillips on a 24-yard touchdown pass and following up with a 10-yard scoring strike to Ja’kyi King-Husband. Hickory added two more points late in the quarter by forcing an Erie safety. Hickory maintained control in the second half, highlighted by a defensive play when Phillips intercepted an Erie pass and returned it 83 yards for a touchdown.

McDowell 37, Cathedral Prep 13

McDowell scored 30 consecutive points to down rival Cathedral Prep Friday night at Veterans Stadium.

Wilmington 42, Lakeview 0

A dominant three-touchdown second quarter and a balanced ground game lifted Wilmington past Lakeview. Quarterback Rowan Miller connected with Cam Kettering on a 7-yard touchdown pass to break the contest open in the second quarter. Cam Kettering scored on a 4-yard touchdown run. Miller then found Cael Kettering for a 10-yard touchdown pass, and Chase Mitcheltree extended the margin with a 24-yard scoring run. Cael Kettering contributed his second score of the day in the third quarter, breaking free for a 40-yard touchdown run. Miller completed the scoring in the fourth quarter, scoring from 4 yards out. Mitcheltree ran for 107 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Through the air, Miller completed 8 of 12 pass attempts for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Sharpsville 51, Mercer 0

Geno Currie delivered a stellar performance, leading Sharpsville to a 51-0 victory over Mercer. The Blue Devils led 49-0 at halftime. Currie found the end zone four times on 62, 4, 4, and 5-yard runs. He finished the game with 164 rushing yards on just 10 carries. Tre’Marr Ham-McCullough ran for 86 yards and two touchdowns on six carries. Brady Gerlach threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Koncar.

Cambridge Springs 35, Union City 0

Wyatt Keem ran for 167 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries as the Blue Devils improved to 6-0. Isaac Laniewicz added two rushing touchdowns and 13 yards. Dale Smith completed 6 of 12 passes for Cambridge Springs for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Colton Hoover and Keem caught the touchdowns. Hoover caught three balls for 50 yards, while Keem had two receptions for 39.

Iroquois 48, Cochranton 26

Chase Cocolin completed 12 of 18 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns as the Braves outscored Cochranton 34-20 in the second half. Jy’sere Wayne caught three passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns, while Ryheem Abu-Zebiba hauled in two passes for 79 yards, including a 72-yard score. Aden Satterfield caught two passes for 53 yards and a score, while Noah Olowinski had five receptions for 66 yards. Cameron Cadden added 106 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Cocolin also scored on a run.

Mercyhurst Prep 56, Maplewood 13

Running back Vinnie Feliciano achieved a historic milestone as Mercyhurst Prep rolled to a 56-13 victory over Maplewood on Friday night. Feliciano’s performance included eclipsing 6,000 career rushing yards, becoming the first running back in Erie County history to reach the milestone. He ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, bringing his career total to 6,061 yards and moving him into sixth place on the all-time District 10 rushing list. The Lakers established control early and sustained the offensive production throughout the contest. Quarterback Everett Cotterill threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Eyon Ellman-Sparks and Tyler Quinn each recorded rushing touchdowns to complete the scoring. With the victory, Mercyhurst Prep improves to 4-2 overall and remains undefeated at 4-0 in region play.

Saegertown 23, Northwestern 13

Matthew Shartle’s early rushing touchdown set the tone as Saegertown built an early advantage and held off Northwestern for a 23-13 win. Shartle opened the scoring, putting the Panthers ahead quickly in the first half. Saegertown extended its lead in the second quarter when quarterback Jaxton Amy connected with Cru Scott on a 70-yard touchdown pass. Northwestern mounted an offensive counterattack led by Ryland Copeland. The Wildcats quarterback completed 12 of 18 passes for 150 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. Copeland also contributed on the ground, rushing eight times for 42 yards and a touchdown. KC Hoffman was Northwestern’s primary target, finishing with four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.

North East 48, Eisenhower 12

Bryson Galloway accounted for five touchdowns as North East secured a 48-12 Region 3 victory over Eisenhower on Friday night. The Grape Pickers scored on each of their first five possessions. Galloway initiated the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown run before connecting with Jayden Wittman on a 32-yard touchdown pass. Just minutes later, Galloway hit Dillen Rodgers for a 35-yard scoring strike with 3:38 remaining in the first quarter, extending the North East lead to 21-0. Galloway then broke free for a 69-yard touchdown run. Ethen Ringer added a 40-yard touchdown run with 1:31 left before the intermission. In the second half, Galloway threw a 31-yard pass to Colton Owens before Eisenhower answered when Nolan Gesing found the end zone on a 20-yard touchdown run. Max Randall broke away for a 51-yard touchdown run with 3:02 remaining in the quarter for the Pickers, while the Knights capped the scoring on a 20-yard run by Joe Gigliotti. Galloway completed all six passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing 85 yards and scoring twice on just four carries. Ringer led the Grape Pickers’ ground game with 136 yards and a touchdown on 12 rushes. Wittman paced the receiving corps with three catches for 42 yards and a score, while Rodgers and Owens each recorded a touchdown reception. Gesing led the Eisenhower offense with 74 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Gigliotti added 71 yards on 10 rushes and completed 3 of 6 passes for 28 yards with one interception. Collin Havers contributed 49 yards on nine carries, and Hunter Briggs recorded 31 yards on eight attempts for the Knights.

Girard 35, Seneca 13

A crucial goal-line stand early in the third quarter sparked a dominant second half for Girard as the Yellow Jackets pulled away for a 35-13 Region 3 victory over Seneca at Seneca High School.
Leading 14-7 after the defensive stop, Girard took full control immediately. Stephen Moyer capped the ensuing drive with a short touchdown run to extend the advantage to 21-7. Moyer anchored the ground game with two rushing touchdowns and contributed defensively with an interception. Quarterback Ryan St. Julien led the Yellow Jackets’ offense, both on the ground and through the air. St. Julien rushed 15 times for 109 yards and a touchdown, and added two passing touchdowns. He connected with Zaiden Markham and River Rogers on scoring strikes to widen the margin. Rogers made an impact across multiple phases of the game, adding a defensive score by returning a fumble for a touchdown. Markham also recorded an interception to help fuel the defensive effort.

Corry 54, Fairview 14

Jack Vanchieri put on a passing clinic, completing all 12 of his attempts for 189 yards and four touchdowns to lead Corry past Fairview in a 54-14 victory. The Beavers built a 28-14 lead by halftime before completely shutting down Fairview in the second half with a 26-0 scoring edge. Vanchieri spread the wealth through the air, connecting with four different receivers for scores: Landon Walizer, Parker Savitz, Robert Cummings, and Lamech Albers. Albers led the Corry receiving corps with 74 yards and added a stellar performance on the ground, carrying the ball 11 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. Savitz also contributed heavily to the offensive output, finding the end zone on both a reception and a rushing play to cap off the runaway win.

Fort LeBoeuf 42, Slippery Rock 13

Dominic Walters threw three touchdown passes, and Aidan Struchen ran for two scores, leading Fort LeBoeuf to a 42-13 Region 4 victory over Slippery Rock. Walters completed 11 of 17 passes for 215 yards and added 40 rushing yards on 16 carries. Struchen anchored the ground game, rushing 16 times for 126 yards. The Bison opened the scoring in the first quarter when Walters connected with Xavier Blose on a 72-yard touchdown pass. Fort LeBoeuf then broke the game open in the second quarter. After Slippery Rock’s Zach Lasko kicked a 29-yard field goal, Walters extended the Bison lead to 21-3 with a 27-yard touchdown pass to Domini Wolfarth and a 30-yard scoring strike to Blose. Struchen widened the margin in the third quarter with 2- and 1-yard touchdown runs. Slippery Rock responded later in the period when John Petras threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Dom Mineo. Blose capped his three-touchdown performance in the fourth quarter with a 69-yard touchdown run. He finished the game with four receptions for 145 yards. For Slippery Rock, Aiden Shay rushed for 78 yards on 21 carries, while Petras completed 5 of 17 passes for 83 yards.

Sharon 40, Titusville 0

Gha’fir Lampkins accounted for four touchdowns, including three through the air, to lead Sharon to a dominant 40-0 win over Titusville. The win marks the fourth consecutive triumph for the surging Tigers. Sharon established command immediately in the opening quarter. Lampkins got the aerial attack going early, connecting with Cyliem Smith on a 62-yard touchdown pass before finding Cash Hosey on a 20-yard scoring strike to build a quick lead. The momentum carried into the second quarter as Lampkins spread the wealth to a third target, hitting Logan Perks for a 23-yard touchdown pass to send Sharon into the locker room with a comfortable cushion. The Tigers extended their advantage further in the third quarter. Smith showcased his versatility by breaking loose for a 65-yard touchdown run. Lampkins then delivered the final blow later in the period, displaying his special teams prowess by returning a Titusville punt 65 yards for a touchdown to cap off his standout performance.

Meadville 20, Franklin 15

Meadville secured a 20-15 victory over Franklin at Bender Field, holding off a late fourth-quarter drive by the Knights as time expired. Franklin quarterback Harrison Doty completed 16 of 26 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns, while receiver Damian Cassano recorded six receptions for 109 yards. The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first quarter. Following a Franklin interception, Leo Collins scored on a 1-yard run to complete a drive extended by his own 16-yard gain. The extra-point attempt failed, leaving the score 6-0. Franklin responded in the second quarter with an 11-play, 69-yard drive. Doty completed passes to Anthony Martin, Caden Mincer, and Cassano before connecting with Ryder Stevens on a 3-yard touchdown pass. Jake Fleming converted the extra point, giving Franklin a 7-6 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Meadville recovered a Franklin fumble to regain possession. The Bulldogs drove down to the FHS 6-yard line following a 30-yard run by Collins and an 11-yard run by Ben Howe, both aided by defensive penalties.

On fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Collins scored to put Meadville ahead 13-7. Meadville extended the lead to 20-7 in the fourth quarter. A third-and-20 roughing-the-passer penalty kept the Bulldogs’ possession alive, and Collins capitalized five plays later with a 33-yard touchdown run. Franklin answered on its next series, using an 18-yard scramble by Doty alongside completions of 21 yards to Mincer and 29 yards to Cassano. Doty completed the drive with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Mincer and a successful two-point conversion pass to Cassano, cutting the deficit to 20-15. After a Meadville punt, Franklin began a final drive from its own 21-yard line. Doty found Cassano for a 30-yard gain to reach the Meadville 12-yard line, but time expired before the Knights could run another play.

General McLane 27, Harbor Creek 19

General McLane earned a hard-fought 27-19 victory over Harbor Creek to keep their perfect season alive. Marcus Geiser put General McLane on the board first with a 3-yard touchdown run. Harbor Creek cut it to 7-6 as Gavin Zillman punched it in from 1 yard out. General McLane extended their lead with a 1-yard run from PJ Mitchell, but Harbor Creek kicker Joey Wagner split the uprights with a 32-yard field goal, trimming the deficit to 14-9 at the break. Zillman scored on an 80-yard touchdown run on the opening play of the second half. Josh Caro hooked up with Donny Burke on a 15-yard touchdown strike, wrestling the lead back for the Lancers at 20-16. Wagner drilled a 30-yard field goal to cut the deficit to one at 20-19. General McLane faced a critical fourth-and-6 from just inside Harbor Creek territory; the Lancers bypassed a conservative play and went for the dagger. Caro dropped back and delivered a 19-yard touchdown pass to Luke Murosky, sealing the 27-19 victory and keeping General McLane’s undefeated season alive.

Greenville 45, Reynolds 7

Greenville’s dominant first half propelled them to a  45-7 victory over the Reynolds on Saturday night. Hunter Emrich opened the scoring with a 4-yard run. The Trojans padded their lead with a safety, and quarterback Cael Thurber scored a 22-yard keeper, extending the lead to 16-0. Landon Porter added a 9-yard touchdown run, and midway through the quarter, Thurber connected with Keith Covert on a 43-yard touchdown pass. Justin Schell ran a 17-yard touchdown run, and in the final moments of the half, Thurber linked up with Schell again for a 58-yard touchdown pass, sending the Trojans into the locker room with a 45-0 halftime cushion. With a running clock in the second half, Reynolds broke through early in the third quarter. Brady Nehlen spearheaded the drive, carrying the ball six times for 75 yards to set up a seven-yard touchdown run by Emmitt Nehlen. Thurber led the Greenville, completing 7 of 11 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 91 yards and a score on the ground. Schell caught five passes for 164 yards and two scores, along with a rushing touchdown. Covert finished the day with one reception for a 43-yard touchdown.
