Notre Dame Makes Palisades Walk The Plank on Senior Night with 63-7 Win

In their second straight home game, Notre Dame once again looked like a District 11 contender, lighting it up on both sides of the ball, en route to a 63-7 victory over the Palisades Pirates. Ryan Qureshi was named offensive MVP of the game for the Crusaders with a fumble recovery TD, and John Hull was named defensive MVP of the for them as well.

Palisades won the toss and elected to receive. They started at their own 20 and gained one first down before punting it away to Notre Dame.

Notre Dame started on the Palisades 48 and Tommy Murphy found a couple different WRs on the drive before hitting his RB Aaron Gordon for the 11 yard TD to put the Crusaders up 7-0 with 7:44 left in the 1st.

Palisades started the next possession on their own 20 and 3 plays later, Aaron Gordon intercepted a pass, setting the Crusaders up 1st and 10 at the Palisades 21, where Murphy hit Drew Boyd for the 21 yard TD with 5:54 left in the 1st to extend their lead to 14-0.

 

Palisades took over on their own 20 and went 3 and out. Notre Dame then took over on the Palisades 43 and got to the Palisades 31 after a 4th and 6 conversion from Jonathan Striba on a 7 yard run. After an ineligible WR penalty backed them up 5 yards, Aaron Gordon would continue his strong night with a 36 yard TD run, extending the Palisades lead to 21-0 with 2:20 left in the 1st.

 

Palisades took over at their own 20 and went 3 and out. Notre Dame started on their own 49 following the punt and in 2 plays, Tommy Murphy found Nyechay Lawless for the 44 yard TD that gave Notre Dame a 28-0 lead with 11:53 left in the 2nd.

 

Palisades took over at their own 30 and went 3 and out. Notre Dame took over at the Palisades 45 and 2 plays later Tommy Murphy hit Drew Boyd for the 45 yard TD that extended the Crusaders lead to 35-0 with 9:28 left in the 2nd.

 

Palisades took over at the Notre Dame 42 following the kickoff. However, Lawless intercepted a pass thrown from the Crusader 47 and Notre Dame took over at the Palisades 36. Notre Dame took it to the Palisades 19, where Aaron Gordon fumbled and Palisades took over there.

Palisades would gain one first down on the drive before punting it back to Notre Dame. The Crusaders took over on the Notre Dame 33 and 2 plays later scored on a direct snap that Jonathan Striba pitched to Aaron Gordon for the 9 yard TD, extending the Notre Dame lead to 42-0 with 3:23 left in the half.

 

Palisades took over on their own 49 and turned it over on downs at the Notre Dame 46. The next play Tommy Murphy took it 54 yards to the house to extend the Notre Dame lead to 49-0 with 1:17 left in the 1st half.

 

Palisades went scoreless on the next possession and went into half with Notre Dame leading 49-0.

Notre Dame started the half at their own 29, and 4 plays later, Tommy Murphy hit Drew Boyd for the 13 yard TD that gave the Crusaders a 56-0 lead with 9:08 left in the 3rd.

 

Palisades started from their own 28 and gained one 1st down before turning it over on downs at their own 42. Notre Dame took over there and took it to the Palisades 23 before turning it over on downs themselves. Palisades started on their own 20 and took it to their 31 before a Ryan Qureshi fumble return TD extended the Crusaders lead to 63-0 with 7:18 left in the game.

 

Palisades took over on their own 35 and would methodically drive down the field before Oliver Mutterperl’s 11 yard TD run put Palisades on the board and make the score 63-7 Crusaders with 1:21 left in the game.

 

Notre Dame would take the kickoff return to the Palisades 49 and end the game at 63-7. Notre Dame improved to 6-0 and will take on Palmerton away next Friday at 7. Palisades drops to 0-6 and will take on Salisbury Township at home next Friday at 7.
