Four straight wins now for the Wildcats, as they cruise past a skidding Wellsboro team at home 44-0 to improve to 5-1 on the year. Athens’ defense also pitched their second shutout of the season, their first coming in week one in a 44-0 win over Wyalusing, also holding the Hornets to just 58 total yards of offense. Connor Davidson accounted for five of Athens’ six touchdowns in the win, two through the air and three on the ground. Davidson went 11/17 for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns, as well as adding 75 yards and 3 touchdowns on 13 carries. Davidson’s two touchdown passes went to Dominic Robbins and Kade Rowe, who led the team in receiving with 6 catches for 112 yards. Shea Davidson also threw a touchdown pass in the second quarter, hitting Lucas Persun from 6 yards out. Wellsboro continues to struggle in the absence of Griffin Morral, quarterback Derrick Blasz went 7/15 for just 41 yards in the loss.
Towanda 35, Cowanesque Valley 7
These two teams were on the exact opposite trajectory coming into this matchup, the Indians were 2-3 on a two game win streak, while the Black Knights were 2-3 on a three game losing streak. Both streaks came to an end as Towanda overwhelmed Cowanesque Valley at home 35-7. The Indians kept the game close late in the second quarter, as both teams were tied at 7 a piece, but Towanda’s rushing attack took over scoring twice before halftime, and twice in the second half. Towanda’s ground game combined for 327 yards and all five of their touchdowns. Jazick Brown led the charge with 120 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries, while Gage Evans tallied 108 yards and 2 more touchdowns on 11 carries. Towanda’s defense held Cowanesque Valley’s rushing attack completely in check, as they finished with negative 2 total yards on the ground. The Indians’ only source of offense came from the passing game, quarterback Gavin Churchill went 6/17 for 113 yards and a touchdown pass, which went to Max Millard.
Troy 48, North Penn-Mansfield 12
The Trojans have now reached five consecutive wins, crushing winless North Penn-Mansfield on the road 48-12 to improve to 5-1. This is now back to back weeks where Troy has surpassed the 40 point mark, scoring 49 last week against Wellsboro and 48 this week. Quarterback Spencer Martin accounted for three touchdowns in the win, 2 through the air, and 1 on the ground, those touchdown passes going to Josiah Pesesky and Trey Teribury. Evan Allen, Jayden Kutt, and Lucas Norton all ran for touchdowns for Troy, while Logunn Heasley had a 39 yard pick six. The Trojans scored all 48 points in the first half, jumping out to a 48-0 lead early in the second quarter before North Penn-Mansfield finally found the end zone. Freshman Waylon Barrows scored his first touchdown of his high school career as well, racking up 20 yards to go with it. Quarterback Gage Furman also threw a touchdown on his only completion of the game, a 38 yard pass to Briar Persing.
South Williamsport 28, Muncy 6
The Mountaineers took down Muncy for their second year in a row, earning a 28-6 road win thanks to both their dominant ground game and defense. For almost the entire game, South Williamsport’s defense completely neutralized Muncy’s offense, as the Indians couldn’t find the end zone until the fourth quarter. By that point, the Mountaineers’ 28-0 lead was just too much for Muncy to overcome. The ground game provided South Williamsport with all the offense they needed, racking up 279 total yards and 4 touchdowns. The leader of the backfield once again was Cade Lusk, turning 26 carries into 141 yards and 2 touchdowns, all leading the team. Garrett Lorson also had a good performance, rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Eli White also ran for a touchdown for South Williamsport, adding 47 yards on the ground as well. Muncy struggled to get their rushing attack going all game, the team as a whole tallied just 67 total yards on the ground, however Noah Walters did run for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. South Williamsport’s defense also picked off both Walters and Noah Weikle once each.

The Black Panthers ended their three game losing streak, taking down Northwest Area at home 33-10, handing the Rangers their second straight loss. In the second half, freshman quarterback Paxton Humphrey took over, going 12/17 for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns. Williamsport 32, Jersey Shore 28
The Millionaires got another big time win this week, taking down a skidding Jersey Shore team on the road 32-28, handing the Bulldogs their third straight loss after a 3-0 start. Williamsport was in control for most of the first half before Jersey Shore tied it just before halftime, then Jersey Shore took over in the second half, but a late rally by Williamsport was enough to power them to victory. Most of Williamsport’s offense came through the air, thanks to another strong performance from Zion Hughes still filling in for the absence of Tevin Williams. Hughes went 18/27 for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air, as well as leading Williamsport in rushing with 56 yards and 2 more touchdowns on the ground. Hughes’ two top targets with Trey Damschroder and Delantae Haberstroh-Stotts, Damschroder hauled in 7 passes for 137 yards and a score, while Haberstroh-Stotts hauled in 6 passes for 115 yards and a score. One of the biggest reasons why the Bulldogs lost this game was the interceptions, as quarterback Nolen Pauling threw 3 interceptions in the game, with one of those coming inside the 10 yard line on the opening drive, and the other coming on Jersey Shore’s final possession that sealed the win for Williamsport. Pauling did go 20/42 for 265 yards and 3 touchdowns as well, however the interceptions proved to be costly in the end. Pauling also was a big factor for Jersey Shore in the run game, turning 28 carries into 177 yards and a score, both of which led the team by a very wide margin. Connor Winters hauled in two of Pauling’s touchdown passes, tallying 5 catches for 70 yards in the game, while Khani McCray caught the other touchdown pass, leading the team in yards as well, hauling in 4 passes for 78 yards. Tristan Smith also ran for a touchdown for Shikellamy as well, turning his 12 carries into 71 yards and a score. Quarterback Bobby Felmy also was very efficient through the air, going 11/19 for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, with one going to Pollock and the other going to Xavier Baker-Allen, who had 3 catches for 58 yards as well. Shikellamy’s defense also picked off Central Mountain quarterback Kyle Everett twice, Corbin Stahl coming away with both of those interceptions. Everett did run for a touchdown for the Wildcats, with Gavin Heverly rushing for one as well.

While quarterback Logan Steele wasn’t as efficient through the air, going just 3/9 for 73 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions, he made up for it on the ground rushing for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 6 carries. Trey Taylor, Ryan Bickert, and Sheldon Sassani all rushed for touchdowns as well, racking up yardage totals of 76, 68, and 23 respectively, with Taylor having the most carries with 12. The Ironmen continue to struggle offensively without starting quarterback Macon Patrick, as their lone touchdown didn’t come until the fourth quarter when the game was well out of reach. Montoursville dominated largely thanks to a fantastic performance from Eli Eck, who normally does most of his damage on the ground, but this game he went 13/22 for 231 yards and a career high 4 touchdown passes. The team’s top rusher was Colton Conklin, who turned just 7 carries into 136 yards, however it was Mason Lapinski who scored the rushing touchdown for Montoursville. All 4 of Eck’s touchdown passes went to freshman running back Bryson Fillman, who caught 6 passes for 130 yards as well.
