In the lead-up to North Penn’s Senior Night, Rylei Gray, a star running-back for the Knights, fell questionable due to a persisting ankle injury from Neshaminy the week before. When gameday came, North Penn decided to sit Gray, risking a significant chunk of their run-game.

In result, Pennridge stuffed the run-game of the Knights, and beat North Penn 20-8 for their first rivalry win at North Penn since 2001.  Pennridge dominated through their running-back, Trevor Picciotti (picture below), who had 140+ yards for his fifth 100-yard game this season.

Pennridge’s defense was led by Marquan Walker, a linebacker for the Rams, who started the opening drive with a pick-six. Aidan Tetkowski (picture below) also led Pennridge, but through the air, with two passing touchdowns to Brody Blomgren and Nate Derstine.

To start the game, North Penn received the ball around the 30-yard line, and relied on backup running-back Ziyon Smith, who normally is the Knights’ wideout. Smith, hitting an inside gap, had the ball stripped, before Michael Ferguson corralled the fumble to give Pennridge possession.

Then, following a Pennridge punt, quarterback London Evans through a drop-off over the middle, where Marquan Walker jumped the route, and intercepted the pass for a pick-six.

When asking Walker post-game about the significance of his picksix, he stated, “for me and my team it meant everything, because we knew we had to get points on the board fast. Our offense was a little sluggish at first, but in the end we figured it out”.

Yet, North Penn struck back, as in the second-quarter, Will Rittenhouse blitzed and found the Pennridge quarterback Aidan Tetkowski in his endzone, where Tetkowski was forced  into intentional grounding for a safety.

Despite North Penn getting points on the board, Pennridge found daylight before the two-minute warning, as Trevor Picciotti found a gap for a 33-yard rush.

And after North Penn’s defense held Pennridge to the 7-yard line, Aidan Tetkowski found Nate Derstine as the clock sounded, and Pennridge took a 14-2 lead.

Going out of halftime, Pennridge continued, as Tetkowski slung a 22-yard touchdown to Brody Blomgren for a 20-2 Pennridge lead. Pennridge marched the field with Picciotti, and found Blomgren to open the half

But, North Penn’s Ziyon Smith ran in a 3-yard touchdown, following a 40-yard rush into the redzone.

Despite Smith’s touchdown, North Penn did too little too late, and as the clock began to dwindle, Pennirdge continued stuffing the run and pass-game of North Penn.  When asking Marquan Walker on how he prepared, he said, “our preparedness was in the weight room and film, all we do is film. We watch our opponents, we were looking at Rylei Gray, unsure if he was going to play and he did not. We knew Ziyon Smith would go in for the runs, so we had to watch that”.

Pennridge routed North Penn to a 20-8 win behind Marquan Walker, Aidan Tetkowski, and Trevor Picciotti, who move to 7-0 on the season. Pennridge moves to 4-0, and first in the conference, and will play at Abington next week. North Penn will fall to 4-3 and 2-2 in the conference, and will play at Central Bucks East next week.
