Panthers are one win away from programs first ever unbeaten regular season
BLOOMSBURG- As the old cliche goes, defense wins championships, Friday night it was dominant performance by the Bloomsburg Panthers defense that terrorized the Danville Ironmen for much of the contest in a convincing 41-8 win on homecoming night at Panther Stadium before a packed house.
With the win pushed the Panthers season record to 9-0, just a win away from completing that historic school milestone. Despite the score the young Ironmen squad certainly did not make it an easy adventure for the home team, forcing two {anthers first half turnovers in the process.
Julius Serrano got the scoring started for Bloomsburg, when he caught a slip screen in the flat and cashed in a 15 pass from quarterback Shane Frey for a 7-0 lead with 2:4 left in the first quarter, Oakley Wodehouse connected on the extra-point with 2:14 left in the opening quarter.

Serrano carried the ball four times for 68 yards and the one touchdown.

Moore-Stewart rushed for 131 yards on the night on just a dozen carries.
In the first half Bloomsburg had 216-38 yard advantage in total offense.
Bloomsburg went to the air on their next score as Frey connected with Brayden Holbert across the middle, Holbert did the rest by going in from 41 yards out again the extra-point was no good making the score. Frey hit Holbert with the two-point conversion to make it 34-0. Prior to Frey’s touchdown pass, he quarterbacked sneaked the ball from a yard out.
Frey was 10 for 15 passing with 153 yards passing and 2 scores. Moore-Stewart and Serrano each caught 5 passes for 61 and 60 yards respectively.

Danville did manage to score with 2:26 left to play on a nifty 50 yard run by Landon Bennett to close out the scoring.
“All our defensive players believe in one another. Coach Riley’s he brings out a good scheme and we believe in what he calls and we just get the job done.” Julius Serrano stated after the game.
Bloomsburg (9-0) will try for that elusive perfect regular season by hosting Northwest Area (4-%). The Rangers will try to stop their 5 game slide. Northwest dropped a 14-6 decision Friday to Lake Lehman. Danville (3-6) will be at Shikellamy (8-1) next week. The Braves are on a six game winning streak as they defeated Warrior Run 48-13.
