35-point barrage in the first half leads the Vikings to win on Senior Night

ALLENTOWN- Before a sparse crowd at J.Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown the Vikings of Allentown Central Catholic came out of the gates roaring to an insurmountable 35-0 lead en route to victory over cross-town rival Louis E Dieruff Huskies by the score of 49-6 in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Lehigh Division contest Saturday night.

The Vikings got the scoring started on the opening drive of the game by going 68 yards on just four plays, all carries by running back Trey Torres-Johnson with the last one going for a 24 yard score with just a 1:29 taken off the clock for a 7-0 lead.

After Allentown Central Catholic picked off an errant Huskey pass on their initial driv, Torres-John scored again this time from a yard out after a 22 yard drive making the score 14-0 with 8:28 to play in the opening quarter.

Speedster Tahir Edmondson of the Vikings then too a punt on his own ten yard line, sprinted across field and down the visitors sidelines for a 90 yard return and a 21-0 lead at the 5:35 mark and the route was on.

At the beginning of the second quarter, quarterback Jamiel Pena, called his own number and scampered in from four yards out increasing the Viking lead to 28-0 with 11:02 left before intermission.

Caleb Oswald playing quarterback in the second half for Allentown CC scored from a yard out to start the 3rd quarter making the score 42-0 at the 5:37 mark.

The only score of the night for the Dieruff Huskies (1-8) was on a 18 yard pass from quarterback Bruce Billger to Adrian Georges with 8:31 left in the contest leaving the score at 42-6.

The Vikings scored another touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a 60 yard run making the final score 49-6.
