We have reached the final weekend of the PCL regular season and there are a few big games on the slate that will determine playoff seeding as well as a division title. The PCL title will be determined when St. Joes Prep and Roman Catholic collide. In the Blue Division West Catholic has locked up the division title but look to cap off an undefeated league play season.

PCL Red:

Roman Catholic (6-2) v St. Joes Prep (6-1):

Roman is looking to lock down the PCL Red title and the #1 seed in the 6A Playoffs as they are currently on a 6-game winning streak. Jr. QB Jahmil Hawkins has 1200 yards and 8 touchdowns in the air to go with 5 rushing scores. Jr. RB Trey Montgomery leads the team in rushing with 440 yards & 8 scores. Jr. WR Jayden Alford leads the team with 349 receiving yards & 4 touchdowns. Defensively Sr. LB Walter Hudson (Pittsburgh) leads the team in tackles (57) while Sr. DL AJ Wright (Eastern Michigan) leads the team in sacks (8).

SJP enters the game looking to regain the PCL Red Division title after losing to La Salle last season. The Hawks are on a 6-game winning streak and earn big wins over Brentwood Academy, Malvern Prep and La Salle this season. Jr. RB Logan Dairsow leads the team in rushing with 347 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jr. RB Ameen Williams has 208 yards & 6 touchdowns. Jr. QB Max Rogers has returned from injury and has 5 touchdown passes on the season with Jr. WR Jett Harrison (Ohio State) being his favorite target having caught 30 passes for 453 yards & 6 touchdowns. Sr. Safety Dariel Jaquez leads the team in tackles (52) and interceptions (2). Jr. DL Traevin Roberts leads the team in 5.5 sacks and tackles-for-loss (12).

Outlook: This game will be very close and probably come down to which quarterback avoids turning the ball over. The winner will be the #1 seed and draw Father Judge in the first round while the loser will play #3 seed La Salle.

Bonner-Prendie (4-5) v La Salle College (4-5):

La Salle is the defending PCL Red Division and State Champion but currently sitting under .500 at 4-5. Sr. RB Ahzir Nelson leads the team in rushing with 633 yards & 6 touchdowns. Jr. RB Bryce Hanton has 399 rushing yards & 5 scores. Jr. QB Luke Gordon has passed for 813 yards & 7 scores this season thus far. So. Athlete Jordan Reid leads the team in receiving with 320 yards & 2 touchdowns. Sr. CB Trey Hopkins (UCLA) leads the team in interceptions with 3. Sr. LB Zakee Scott (UNC) leads the team in tackles (35) and sacks (2.5).

Bonner enters this game looking to get back on the winning track before the playoffs being. Sr. QB Noel Campbell has thrown for 1269 yards & 10 touchdowns this season. Sr. WR Tarif Nixon leads the team with 328 yards & 3 touchdowns while Ty Morris has 328 receiving yards & 1 touchdown. Omarie Demercado has 569 rushing yards & 8 scores. Defensively Jr. LB Logan Rogers leads the team in tackles (45), interceptions (1 returned for touchdown) and tackles for loss (12). Sr. DL Nafiz Bostick leads the team in sacks with 4.

Outlook: The Friars and Explorers are both looking for momentum heading into the playoffs. Both teams have struggled with consistency and need a win to carry momentum into the playoffs. Neither team has had great offensive success so this will probably be a low scoring affair.

O’Hara (5-4) v Father Judge (3-6):

Sr. QB Braylon Harris leads the Lions with 891 passing yards & 9 touchdowns while adding 2 additional on the ground. So. RB Charles Goldsborough has 306 rushing yards & 8 touchdowns. Jr. RB Morris Donzo has 565 rushing yards & 8 touchdowns. Jr. WR Simon Horta (265 yards & 4 touchdowns) & Jr. WR Emilio Martinez (217 yards & 4 touchdowns). Simon also leads the team with 4 interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns. Sr. LB Sammy Dantonka (Wake Forrest) has a team leading 4 sacks.

The Crusaders are on a 4-game losing streak having been shut out by all 4 PCL opponents this season. They’ve failed to crack 100 total yards of offense in all 4 league games thus far. Defensively they’ve shown fight in the PCL Red games with the most recent game against Roman Catholic recording 2 interceptions. Jr OLB Amare Simpson leads the team in sacks (7). While Sr. DB Robert Gormley has 27 tackles, 3 interceptions (1 touchdown) and 1 forced fumble.

Outlook: The Lions are more talented and should be able to get back on the winning track with a comfortable win.

PCL Blue:

Wood (6-3) v Carroll (7-2):

Wood is currently on a 2-game slide. Sr. RB D’Andre Webb has a PCL league leading 1582 rushing yards to go with 23 touchdowns. Sr. QB Jack Drakeley has 1366 yards & 11 touchdowns. Sr. Athlete David Melch leads the team in receiving yards (580) and touchdowns (6). Sr. LB Cole Wiberley has 74 tackles to go with 2 interceptions (1 touchdown), 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries. Jr. LB Dante Fulginitti leads the team in sacks with 4.

Carroll has been the surprise of the CL led by Fr. QB RJ Finlaw who has thrown for 1457 yards & 21 touchdowns. RJ also has 5 scores on the ground. Sr. WR TyTy Mattison (Merrimack) leads the team in receiving yards with 583 yards & 10 touchdowns. Jr. TE Ceasar Richardson has 316 yards & 5 touchdowns. So. LB Tysheen Epps leads the team with 3 interceptions to go with his 21 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries and 3 sacks. Sr. LB has a team leading 53 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.

Outlook: Wood has had a great season and has a dominant running attack. Carroll has had a surprising year and been a great passing team. Both teams have physical defenses. Wood has a little more depth, but this could be a toss-up game.

West Catholic (8-1) v Conwell-Egan (5-4):

By virtue of their win last weekend the Burrs are the CL Blue Division champions. They look to cap off a great season with an undefeated CL regular season. Their lone loss this season came against CL Red Cardinal O’Hara. Sr. QB Josiah Everett has 2035 yards & 21 touchdowns this season while also rushing for 225 yards & 3 touchdowns on the ground. Sr. WR Sya’mir Jackson leads the team in receiving yards (433) and interceptions (4) and has 4 receiving touchdowns. Sr. WR Tyree Wilkins leads the team in touchdown receptions with 7. Jr. WR Taahir Spratley has 6 touchdown receptions. Jr. LB Zymir Langerston has 37 tackles and a team leading 5 sacks while Jr. LB Tyler Smith has 46 tackles, 1 fumble recovered for a touchdown and 4 sacks.

Egan is led by Sr. QB Aubrey Kimbrough has 2034 passing yards & 22 touchdowns. Sr. WR Jaeden Thenor leads the team in receiving yards (675) and has 9 touchdowns. Sr. WR Jameer Harper has 587 yards & 10 touchdowns. Jr. LB Jacob Primich leads the team in sacks with 5.

Outlook: Coach Richardson has almost surely locked himself into the CL Blue Coach of the Year or at worst Co-Coach of the Year. A win would give the Burrs a perfect divisional record while Egan looks to end their season on a high note. The goal for WC is a state title, and they should roll in this matchup.

Neumann-Goretti (0-8) v Archbishop Ryan (1-7):

With a young team NG has struggled mightily this season offensively only scoring 20 points all season while giving up 274 points. A bright side for the Saints has been Sr. DB Cassius Law who has 6 interceptions this season. The defense despite being down in all of their games has produced 13 interceptions. Jr. LB Jaylon Williams has 36 tackles, 1 interception, 2 FF, 2 FR and a team leading 4 sacks.

Ryan has had a down season with their lone win coming against Lansdale Catholic. So. RB Kazmaire Kelly leads the team in rushing with 321 rushing yards & 6 touchdowns. Sr. QB Brian Scott has 837 yards & 5 touchdowns. Sr. WR Dashon Williams leads the team in receiving with 360 yards & 4 touchdowns. Defensively the Raiders are led by So. LB Frank Lorenti who has a team leading 68 tackles. Sr. DL Gavin Kpan leads the team in sacks with 4.5 while also registering 37 tackles and returning a fumble for a touchdown.

Outlook: The Raiders have shown signs of competitiveness this season and have more pieces in place than NG does and should win comfortably.
