Brevard College lit up the field from the opening kickoff until the final whistle, winning in commanding fashion over the Sewanee Tigers, 39-14.
Brevard RB Zion McDaniel-Fauntleroy rumbled 53 yards for a touchdown just three plays into the game and Brevard never looked back. Marvin Reed Jr. would add two first quarter touchdowns to add on to a Brevard field goal, taking a 22-0 lead into the second quarter.
The second quarter leaned in favor of Sewanee as they looked like they were trying to mount a comeback. Sewanee was able to force a safety after turning it over on downs at the 2 yard line. Later in the quarter they would add a rushing touchdown from RB Barton Mixon, however they would fail the PAT leaving their quarter total at 8 Brevard would put up a touchdown, courtesy of QB Christian Conley on a 1 yard sneak and take a 29-8 lead into halftime.
The second half was much of the same, Brevard came out hot in the third quarter. Christian Conley would find a connection with Shy Grant for a 14 yard touchdown, increasing the lead to 36-8 before adding a field goal to make it 39. Sewanee was able to find the end zone again late when QB Toryn Wilkins found WR Na’Shawn Holman for a 22 yard strike but the PAT was no good, leaving the final score 39-14 in favor of Brevard.
