The 2026 PIAA season for J.P. McCaskey has come to a close. The Wilson Bulldogs spoiled the Red Tornadoes’ senior night, dominating them 43-12 in their season finale and clinched their 31st L-L League Section Football Title.
Kicking off for the final time at Penn Medicine Stadium, the Wilson Bulldogs opened the game as McCaskey elected to receive. The Bulldogs made them pay immediately, setting the tone with a pick-six by junior Damian Greer on McCaskey’s third play from scrimmage to take an early 7-0 lead. Wilson followed up with a strong offensive performance after forcing McCaskey to punt. Starting at the 50-yard line, Wilson quickly moved into Red Tornado territory. After a few chunk plays, the Bulldogs found themselves facing a fourth-and-4 from the 13-yard line.

However, after consecutive hard counts from senior quarterback Cole Peterson, McCaskey committed consecutive offsides penalties, gifting Wilson a first-and-goal from the 1-yard line. Senior running back Michael Glover punched it in for a 1-yard touchdown, extending the Bulldogs’ lead to 14-0 with 6:01 remaining in the first quarter.
Up to this point, McCaskey’s offense had been consistently swallowed up in the backfield by Wilson’s defense. The next drive ended similarly, as the Red Tornadoes were forced to punt on fourth-and-12, giving Wilson possession once again. The Bulldogs marched down the field with little to no negative plays. Their fast-paced offense kept McCaskey off balance, and Wilson found the end zone once again. This time, sophomore running back Jaiden Whitehurst secured the score with a 3-yard rushing touchdown to stretch the lead to 21-0 just before the start of the second quarter.
Wilson continued to capitalize on big plays from junior Brayden Farrell, and that trend carried into their next possession. After Farrell hauled in two passes for a total of 24 yards, Whitehurst finished the drive with his second rushing touchdown of the game, this time from 13 yards out for a 28-0 lead.

With 9:13 remaining in the second quarter, the Bulldogs continued to dominate. Offense, defense, and special teams all delivered for Wilson. Shortly after the touchdown, sophomore returner Lavar Alston took a McCaskey punt all the way back for a touchdown. With 5:13 remaining in the first half, the Bulldogs capped off an electric sequence and headed into halftime with a commanding 35-0 lead.
To start the third quarter, Wilson lined up deep to receive freshman kicker Sheamus Nesbitt’s kickoff. However, the Red Tornadoes opened the half with an onside kick recovery, giving their offense possession in Bulldog territory. Led by sophomore quarterback Marlon Valentin, McCaskey marched down the field and reached the 1-yard line. J.P. McCaskey showed signs of life in the second half that fueled some momentum. Just as the Red Tornadoes appeared to be in prime position to score, Valentin fumbled, and Wilson recovered the ball inside the 1-yard line.
Wilson could not capitalize on the opportunity to put together a 99-yard scoring drive and was forced to punt for the first time all night. J.P. McCaskey took over at its own 40-yard line and gained momentum after a chunk play on the ground by sophomore Wesley Ray moved the ball to the 26-yard line.
A few plays into the fourth quarter, quarterback Marlon Valentin connected with sophomore Robert Anderson on a crucial fourth-and-8 conversion. Following the conversion, junior power back Bruszavion Baisch punched it in from 10 yards out to cut the deficit to 35-6 with 11:54 remaining in the game. McCaskey’s momentum continued as the Red Tornadoes recovered another onside kick. Facing a fourth-and-18 from the 48-yard line, sophomore Julian Collazo came up with a clutch 19-yard reception to move the chains. The deficit seemed to not phase this resilient team as they continued to fight back. Shortly afterward, Valentin found the end zone with a 13-yard touchdown run. Their leader still found a way to keep his team’s head held high.

Despite holding a 35-12 lead with just over two minutes remaining, the Bulldogs were not finished. Sophomore quarterback Gram Hunsicker found junior Brody Streeter wide open down the seam for one final touchdown. Wilson extended its lead to 43-12 following a successful two-point conversion and will carry that 31-point victory into the PIAA playoffs.
For McCaskey, the season has come to an end. The Red Tornadoes will look to continue improving and become a threat in the Lancaster-Lebanon League next season. As for Wilson, the job is far from finished. The Bulldogs now turn their attention to the PIAA playoffs and their quest for some hardware.
