Clairton stays undefeated in conference play and clinches the conference title with their 42-0 win over Jeannette.
It was a lackluster first quarter, neither team was driving very far, mainly due to penalties. Jeannette would face the worst of this when 3 straight penalties started their second drive at their own five before a sack gave Clairton the first points on a safety.
Then Quintin Napper would wake up, scoring the first of four touchdowns on the night, a 61 yard score getting breakaway speed to the right sideline and finding the corner to make it 8-0.
Clairton’s Rheyjon Williams picked off Schaeffer, but a pass interference penalty prevented the takeaway. Jeannette would be forced to punt after a 3 minute drive that felt like forever, again due to the flying of the yellow flags.
Clairton’s following drive had the first touchdown called back for penalties, but they would find the endzone regardless with another Napper touchdown.
Williams had another opportunity for an interception, this time with no pass interference, but rather a holding penalty, preventing his takeaway touchdown return. Clairton would again get the ball in Napper’s hands for his third score of the night.
Keith Craven III forced another interception, then Jaece Booker scored on the ground to end the half 28-0.
Out of the locker room, it was Napper for his fourth, ending his night and putting the game into running clock.
Clairton would tack on one more touchdown on a pass to Ty’Ron Armstrong in the right corner of the endzone, but the second half finished swiftly and Clairton pulled off an easy victory.
With the win, Clairton clinches the Eastern Conference in Class 1A, while Jeannette suffers their first loss of the season.
