We are into the 3rd week of the season and teams are now starting to show who are contenders and those who are rebuilding. In the Public League last week Northeast picked up the biggest win of the week taking a 28-9 win over District 1 Coatesville. Imhotep led nationally ranked DeMatha (#23) late in the 4th quarter before falling by a single point (21-20), John Bartram rang up a big non-conference win over Academy of New Church, Roxborough gained a win over Salisbury Township, Central blanked South Philly (19-0) and Lincoln (PA) rolled over Lincoln (40-13). In the CL St. Joes Prep started their season with a huge road win over nationally ranked Brentwood Academy (TN), La Salle fell to 0-2 on the season getting shut out by Malvern Prep, Roman was routed by Don Bosco (NJ), Bonner-Prendie blanked Archbishop Ryan in a key 4A non-league matchup at the shore, West Catholic routed Dover (DE) in a classic game in the first state, Archbishop Carroll put up over 50 points in a win over Bristol (51-17), Archbishop Wood captured a thrilling win over Germantown Academy at the shore and Father Judge took home the win over Lansdale Catholic in the Crusaders Bowl. In Inter-Ac action SCHA, Episcopal and Haverford School all fell in their openers.

Games of the Week
Malvern v Imhotep: Ultimately the game of the week within the area as both teams are loaded with Division 1 prospects. Tep led late before falling to nationally ranked DeMatha last weekend while Malvern Prep shutout La Salle. Tep has a physical defense that is strong upfront and has 4-star recruit Jr. Kaleb Woseley and ball hawking DB Malik Drayton in the secondary. Malvern has LSU commit Sr. WR Cade Cooper as well as a talented line led by Sr. OT Tyler Graham and stud JR DL George Parkinson.
Roman v DeMatha: Roman sits at 0-2 this season suffering multi score defeats to two nationally ranked programs in St. John Bosco (CA) and Don Bosco (NJ). DeMatha is ranked #24 this week and coming off a great comeback win over Imhotep on the road last weekend.
Archbishop Carroll @ Wissahickon: Both teams are off to fantastic 2-0 starts and look to continue their winning ways. Carroll Fr. QB RJ Finlaw has thrown for 316 yards & 5 touchdowns in 2 games this season.
La Salle @ Archbishop Wood: The Explorers are in search of their first win of the season. The offense has been stagnant this season despite Sr. RB Ahzir Nelson rushing for 288 yards in two games so far this season. Wood is led by Sr. RB D’Andre Webb who leads the city in rushing with 415 yards & 6 touchdowns.
Chester @ Northeast: Both teams are coming off huge wins as Chester is 2-0 after their 40-7 win over George Washington. Freshman RB Sa’Mhad Williams leads the team in rushing with 267 yards & 6 touchdowns. Northeast upset Coatesville last week led by their stingy defense.
