Avon Grove head coach, Joe Coffey said, “Harrison is a team captain and returning starter. Harrison did not leave the field for us in 2022. He started at RB/Wing, Defensive Back, Punter, Punt Returner, KO Returner, and held PAT/FG. He has a compact frame that delivers a blow. Has added weight while increasing his speed. Harrison was the team leader in TD’s in 2022.”

LET`S GET TO KNOW Harrison Watson

Why did you start playing football?

When I was 4 years old I knew I wanted to play football. Watching the NFL and going to the Avon Grove football games as a young kid inspired me to play football.

Who is toughest player you went up against?

Abu Kamara from Interboro.

Position you play and why you chose it?

I am a running back. I was a receiver for many of my early years in football. But when I got to middle school I got the opportunity to play at running back. I instantly fell in love with the intensity of the position.

If you could play any other position on the field what would it be?

I would probably want to play slot or wide receiver.

Favorite pre game hype song you listen to?

Wins & Losses by Meek Mill.

What has playing high school football meant to you?

I have met some of my best friends playing AG football. Personally it is about family for me, the brotherhood we have and we have each others backs.

Is there any player you model your game after or look up to?

I look up to Barry Sanders because he wasn’t the biggest guy but he had a style that teams couldn’t stop. Another player I look up to is Walter Payton because of his mentality on the field and his determination.

Favorite pre game/post game meal?

I always ate chicken and rice before my games

Favorite high school football memory

When we beat Bishop Shanahan 14-0 for are homecoming game.

Favorite nfl/college football team?

Favorite NFL team is the Eagles. My favorite college team is WVU.

What would it mean for you to play at the next level
It would mean everything to me. I’ve been dreaming about playing at the next level since I was a little kid.
