LET’S GET TO KNOW MIKE SCAVELLO

Why do you play football?

I play football because I started at a young age and fell in love with the game. Ever since then I’ve never stopped playing and I’ve never wanted to. Football has taught me a lot throughout the many years that I’ve played and I’ve gained many friends along the way. Ever since I was little, my dream was to play in the NFL but now I just take it step-by-step to try to better myself everyday. Football is my life and it what i love to do day in and day out.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

My favorite sports star is kobe bryant. Kobe Bryant is my favorite sports star because of his mentality and hard work. When I was younger, I used to watch basketball from time to time, and I loved watching Kobe play as I grew up i learned more and more about him and how he out worked all of his competition. I look up Kobe because I know he wants to be better than everybody else and he wants to be number one that’s exactly what I wanna do and the type of person i want to be.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My favorite play in football was scoring my first touchdown in high school. I never really played much offense ever in football i was more of a defensive based guy but going into my junior year i started at fullback/ tight end and scored my first touchdown against Phoenixville high school on a crossing route. It was one of my most memorable moments in football. I loved having all the attention on me and being that guy for a second.

What was last years season like for you?

Last years season was my junior season and my best year of football yet. I had an incredible year and lead the team in sacks and was second in tackles playing defensive end. I just couldn’t be stopped on defense. I was a great additional piece for the offense and made it known that I am a phenomenal player all around.

What are your goals for this coming season?

I want to have another breakout year better than my junior year and push myself to play somewhere in college.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Nolan Clayton was the best player i’ve ever lined up against. Yes he was on my team but the kid is a beast. He’s 6’5, 245 and plays tight end and Defensive tackle. He is going d1 on a full ride to villanova and he has pushed me to become the player i am today. Going against him everyday in practice is while I am at defensive end and he’s at tight end was the best thing for me. He always gave me the best work and pushed me to be a better player everyday.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I would love to visit Penn State, i’ve watched Penn State games since I was a kid and seeing the atmosphere and the player to play there is just amazing. I’ve researched their school and all around it’s amazing. I would love to take a visit there.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

My favorite football team without a doubt is the Philadelphia Eagles. I’ve bled green my entire life, i’m a philly fan till I die.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

My favorite game of mine that i’ve watch is against William Tennant high school where I had a career high 14 tackles and 3 sacks while playing defensive end. I felt like a true x factor that game and nobody could stop me. I love going back and reminiscing about that game.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Remember the Titans without a doubt. I love that movie so much, i grew up watching it with my grandfather and it’s a classic. It a all around great movie with great lessons within it. That movie gets my so pumped up.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

If it’s my mom it’s usually something along the lines of Yaaaa Mikeeee and if it’s my dad it’s him yelling at the reds asking to check their payroll because they made a bad call.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Id love to play in the NFL that is my dream and i understand how hard it is to play at that level but i’ll never stop wishing for that to happen.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

The person that is my mentor and the person I want to be like is my father. He is the man I inspire to be, he proveides for his family and is always there supporting us. He is the perfect father and I couldn’t ask for a better person in my life. I hope that when i’m older i’m half the man he is.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

I would love to play basketball but it’s just not a sport for me.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

One of my most embarrassing moments is in game missing a wide open tackle or in practice droppings. wide open pass.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

my grandfather, without a doubt he has been by my side since I was little and he’s one of my biggest fans. he has always supported me and push me to be a better person on and off the field.
