WORDS FROM THE HEAD COACH:
Ryan is a 3-year returning starter who excels in every facet of the game. He is a two-way star as a RB and Secondary player. He also serves as our place kicker and fills many special teams’ roles. Ryan is a coaches dream and the ultimate swiss army knife. He is the consummate leader on and off the field and plays with a throwback mentality.
GETTING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT RYAN:
What is the best part of being a student-athlete at CBW High School ?
The best part of being a student athlete at CBW is being apart of a program that has so much history behind it, also being able to play in front of the whole town on Fridays is really cool.
How long have you been playing football(any level) ?
This year I will be playing my 13th season of football. I started playing when I was 5.
Of all the road games you have played, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good ?
Playing at East definitely has the best atmosphere because of the how big the rivalry is and the winner of that game usually gets the CB Cup.
If the game is on the line, do you want to be on offense or defense ? Explain:
Offense for sure, if you’re winning, you want to control the ball, if you’re losing you want to score.
As an athlete, what has been your biggest achievement ?
Starting as a Sophomore for West was a pretty big achievement for me.
What was the high point of the 2023 season ?
We had a lot of high points but beating South week-8 was one of the best. Both teams going in 8-0, playing for a chance at the CB Cup and having around 7000 people there and ending up on top in the end.
What are you going to miss the most from the class of 2024 ?
I’m going to miss all of them but to name a few, my QB Cooper Taylor, our WR Conor McFadden, and our DE Jack Williams, all these guys were some big leader for our team last year.
What are your goals for the 2024 season ?
Win as many games as possible and rush for as many yards as I can.
Who is your favorite sports star and why ?
Darren Sproles is one of my favorite sports stars because, it’s cool to see someone at my height do so much in the league and he played for the Eagles.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most ? Explain:
In our 2nd playoff game we faced Garnet Valley in a really close game that ended up going into OT which then came down to me making a game winning extra point cause we had blocked there’s, so it was 27-27 and I made it which was a pretty cool thing.
Who is the best player(s) you have ever lined up against and what team did they play for ?
Colin O’Sullivan was probably the best player I played against. My Sophomore year we played Upper Dublin and he just threw all over us.
What stadium, (HS/College/Pro) would you love to visit for a game ?
Hard Rock Stadium would be cool to watch a game at.
What is your favorite Pro Sports team(any sport) ? Explain:
The Eagles are probably my favorite team because I’ve been a fan my whole life.
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why ?
Watching the Eagles win the Super Bowl against the Patriots was probably my favorite game I’ve watched. It was a close game at the way and to have the Eagles win their first Super Bowl was really cool.
What sports movie could you watch every day if you had to pick one, and why ?
Rocky 4 is probably my favorite sports movie, I’d say because it’s a really good story line and it has you watching at all times.
Name one thing you’d love to do in football that may never happen ?
Throwing a touchdown pass would be awesome.
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
I would want to play baseball.
What is your most embarrassing sports moment ?
Most embarrassing moment would have to be getting juked in open field in my second high school game.
When you aren’t playing, practicing, or training for sports, what is your go to activity, and why ?
My go to activity is probably snowboarding, golfing or spike ball, all of these things are activities I enjoy doing when I’m not playing football.
Which one, Sheetz, Wawa, or Rutters ? Explain:
Wawa is my go to, but Sheetz on a road trip might be better.
What is your favorite vacation destination ?
Ocean City, NJ is one of my favorite places to go on vacation.
Tell us something that you have a fear of ?
One of my biggest fears I have is getting caught in an avalanche.
Favorite Fast Food/Burger place and why ?
My favorite place to get a burger is probably Shake Shack, because they also have really good milkshakes.
Have you ever been to a professional sports game, which ones ?
Yes I have been to a few Phillies games and Eagles games.
NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAAF, NFL, Which league is the best and why ?
NFL is the best league because football it’s the most competitive and physical sport there is.
What is your favorite video game, on mobile and or console ?
Favorite video game was Madden 20.
What toppings go on your favorite pizza ?
Plain or Sausage
Favorite School Subject ?
Science is probably the most interesting of the the main school subjects.
Favorite Band/Musician ?
Travis Scott
Airplane, Boat, or Vehicle(motorcycles included), how would you travel and to where ?
I would travel by plane to Japan.
Name one thing in life(NOT SPORTS RELATED) you would like to achieve:
I would like to travel to many different countries and experience the world.
Location you think would be the best place to live(ie: island, mountains, city, etc) ? Explain why:
A costal city like Miami or San Jose because, I enjoy the beach and warm places.
