Coach says: “Brandon had a tremendous year for us as a Junior. He battled an injury at the start of the year, but became a force for us on both the offensive and defensive line. He is a physical and nasty football player who will do anything for his teammates. We have high expectations for him both as a player and leader in 2025″.

Let’s get to know Brandon

Why do you play football?

I have a desire to be better day in and day out. Being a monster on the field is something I think I have yet to have the opportunity to do, so knowing that I still have that opportunity makes me want to go out and dominate.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

My favorite athlete has got to be Aaron Donald. He may not have been the tallest or went to Alabama but he knew what it took to be a freak in the weight room and a force on the field.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

The first play of our playoff season last year we drove down the field against Kennet and set the tone for the game. We were resilient and had all the confidence in the world that we could beat that team and that’s exactly what we did.

What was last years season like for you?

It was the season for me to prove myself and to rebound from injury. I unfortunately got hurt in the summer time and was sidelined for 2 months and that hurt my progress. I took the challenge to get back to where I was head on and learned the grind it takes to be an impact player on our team.

What are your goals for this coming season?

I want to win it all. I want to prove anyone who thinks “Garnet Valley football isn’t what it used to be” wrong.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

I’d say Jahi Curtis from Strath Haven. He was a big dude and very physical, really fun to block.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

We played Strath Haven in the playoffs last year and we went to overtime. It was an absolute dog fight and no one picked us to win. We stuck out the game and ended up winning 35-34.

Describe what the perfect teammate is

A guy that is energetic, leads by example and pushes his peers to be the best they can be.

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community

Football is nothing like any sport, purely because of the competitive nature of the game. It is such a thrill to watch a team run out under the lights and have a packed out student section and parents to support their children.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Scoop and score or pick 6 to win the game. That is so rare for a Lineman to do so that would be absolutely electric.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

I look up to my mother and her selfless attitude. Aside from football she does so much to put other before herself and that’s applicable to life in so many ways.

What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?

I love our 2 minute drill and team period because we get to have friendly competition against our teammates. I don’t like our pursuit drill just because we have to repetitively run sprints.

Preseason Two a Days are:

Demanding and tough, but worth it.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

I think my brother is my biggest fan. We both play high school football and we love to compete against each other. Even though he is on the other side of the ball we love and support each other’s success.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

I am always in the gym. I live and die by the barbell and that will never change.

What is your favorite play to run?

I love running toss and blocking in open space. It give me a chance to get out and level anyone on the field.

is a hot dog a sandwich? If not, then why?

No way a hot dog is a sandwich. It’s because the roll is closed and it’s not on a bun.

Music of choice:

Defined RNB, preferably Drake

Best thing you ever got from a teammate? Why?

The advice to stick with football and grind it out. Now i’ve grown to love the process and everything that comes with it.

Best Pizza topping?

Pepperoni

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Has to be the beach, OCNJ is undefeated!

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?

I watch the Eagles and Patriots battle it out in Super Bowl 52 and little did I know I would be dreaming to be on that same stage today.
