There was no doubt that Abington would have the upper hand throughout the game just judging off Council Rocks first drive. It only took three plays before Abington was able to force a fumble which they were to recover at the 36. Abington was able to score off a 2 yard rush by Jaime Rievera with 6:13 left in the 1st. Suddenly as soon as kick off happened they were able to force and recover yet again another fumble.

Their first play after the fumble, Quarter Back Anthony Pronsati found #5 Ryan Smith for a 31 yard touchdown streaking down the middle of the field Wide Open for the touchdown. Abington went up over Council Rock North 14-0 with 5:59 in the 1st. Council Rock finally found their legs being able to move the ball down the field. Before the quarter was able to end Council Rock finally got a score coming from #7 William Scibona and brought the lead down to 7 with 1:20 left in the quarter.

Council Rock kicked the ball out of bounds which brought the ball to the 25, Abington got off two plays accounting for nine yards before the Quarter was to end with Abington leading 14-7. Unlucky for Council Rock North with Abington bringing the hammer down in the 2nd quarter. Eight plays into the 2nd quarter Quarter Back Anthony Pronsati got his 2nd touchdown of the day, this time him keeping the ball for a 9 yard rushing touchdown. Abington went up 21-7 with 8:27 left in the half.

One play into Council Rock North’s first drive, #19 Joshua Young gets a tipped pass off of #52 Connor Penderghest, Joshua than returned the ball 26 yards for a Pick 6 pushing Abington’s lead to 21 with 8:07 left in the half.

Council Rock still had no momentum or what seemed any passion in the game at this point. Their drive only took one play before yet again another turnover, this time another fumble off a bad snap giving Abington the ball at the 26. Council Rock North could not stop Abington’s run which forced them to use their last timeout of the half with 6:59 left. With 5:56 left in the half Anthony Pronsati got his 4th Touchdown finding Joshua Young on a slant for his 2nd touchdown of the game pushing Abington’s total to 35-7.

Council Rock finally had a drive that did not end in a fumble or pick, but sadly it had to end in a punt on a four and out. Abington’s drive wasn’t moving much until QB Anthony Pronsati was able to total a 28 yard rush to bring the ball to the 20 yard line. Two plays later Anthony got his 5th Touchdown of the half finding Joshua Young for his 3rd Touchdown of the half on an eight yard pass to extend the score to 42-7 with 1:08 left in the half.

Council Rock tried to get something in before the half ended but went 4 and out, Abington was able to get the ball back, took a knee and ending the half up 42-7. By the time the second half started, all starters were pulled for both teams and running clock was put on. Not much happened in the 3rd, Abington was able to hit a 29 yard Field goal to get a 45-7 lead over Council Rock North. The most interesting plays happened on Council Rocks first drive. #7 William Scibona was able to return the kickoff for 75 yards and have set up the Council Rock’s offense at the 17. With 7.5 seconds left in the 3rd, QB Jackson Farely was able to get a 2 yard keep for the touchdown, sadly though, two good things cant happen in a row. Their PAT was blocked leaving them still down 45-13.

The 4th quarter was nothing but unexciting. Abington punted on their first drive, and so did Council Rock. Or at least they tried, the punt went over the head of the punter and he ran the ball for nine yards and was stopped short. Abington turned the ball right back off a fumble, and the clock ran out leaving Abington with the win 45-13. I was able to talk with Abington’s Quarter Back Anthony Pronsati who ended the game with 5 touchdowns, One rushing and Four passing. He stated how everyone knew the game plan, knew what they had to do, and hopes to see that in the future. When asked how was this week different from last he responded with “I feel like we didn’t really come out to play last week, that really humbled us in a way and we came out this week ready to play and got the job done”. He shouted out #19 Joshua Young who was on the receiving end of two touchdowns and had a pick six. He finished off the interview hoping to keep the momentum rolling into Harry S Truman and finishing off the season with the same momentum. Council Rock North will play their first away game against CB South while Abington plays their first home game against Harriet S Truman.
