Central Bucks East’s senior lineman Liam Powers committed verbally to Penn State back in November. Today he has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Nittany Lions next season as a preferred walk-on or as Coach James Franklin and Staff call it, a preferred run-on. I touch based with Liam after he signed to see how he felt. He said,
“It feels great! I enjoyed the recruiting process with all the different schools I spoke with and visited but PSU is where I wanted to be since my first visit back it January. I can’t wait to get to work with the team and coaching staff at PSU.” I then asked him what he’s going to focus on until camp, he replied, “My focus now is to finish strong academically my senior year and to continue working out to be bigger, faster and stronger for camp this summer.”  Lastly I asked what he was looking forward to working with Coach Trautwein and Penn State? “What I am looking forward to the most working with Coach Traut is his experience, attention to detail and the energy that he and his staff (Coach Leonard and Coach Scott) bring everyday and every practice. Coach Trautwein and his staff will help me become and better player but there is a lot of work that I need to put in first, I am ready to put in the hard work and I look forward to being a part of the Penn State football program.”  Liam was an integral part of an offensive attack that saw his running back rush for over 1900 yards & 25 touchdowns and a QB who threw for over 1400 yards & 9 touchdowns. His team finished the year 8-3 and made an appearance in the 6A playoffs.  Congratulations Liam and good luck next season from everyone at PFN!
