It’s a nice thing when you get recruited early on in your career. Central Bucks South offensive lineman Collin Goetter didn’t have that comfy zone. His offers didn’t start fallin into place until a late April visit to see the Maine Blackbears. They offered first, then it was a flurry of offers the likes of which saw LIU, Maine, Towson, Sacred Heart, Towson, Lehigh, Bryant, St. Francis, Lafayette, Georgetown, Monmouth & Bucknell throw their hats in the ring for the 6-3, 280 pound offensive lineman. But it was the Hawks who impressed the most and received a committment from Goetter today. He made his announcement on twitter.

We caught up with Collin to ask him about his choice:

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Hawks before your senior season?

It felt like the right fit, everything fell into place. Now with the transfer portal things move much quicker with Recruting.

PFN: Who was your biggest influence there. , who recruited you?

Coach Bishop Neal, and Coach Gabriel

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?

There getting a relentless blocker that loves to move other players against their will. Who loves the grind of football.

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?

It was stressful but once things started to fall into place. It was enjoyable very grateful for everything.

PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?

Finance, business, accounting

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?

My parents were very supportive, they went with me to visit a lot of these schools. So they had a key insight on potential spots.

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the program?

Long tenure of the coaching staff, Head coach has been there 30 years, OC has been there 20 years, my future position coach has also been there 20 years

PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for them?

Winning CAA championships

PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them:

I qualified for states this past winter in Wrestling

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?

Very thankful to have good coaching my whole life. But if I needed to pick one person it would be my current Head Coach who is also my position coach, Tom Hetrick!

Why do you play football?

Because there’s nothing better than a Friday night under the lights, overpowering the person across from you for 70 plays a game!

What would you do to improve the recruiting process?

I wish Coaches were more open with the prospects.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?

Very thankful for where I’m at, but it has been a very stressful process.
