In my Game of the Week, we have two teams that are going to be battling it out to play in the District One Championship against the winner of (2) Strath Haven vs (3) WC Rustin. Last season Plymouth Whitemarsh and Upper Dublin met in the quarterfinal round and PW came away with a 42-36 overtime thrilling victory.  I took some time this week to sit down with each starting quarterback to ask some questions that have been on my mind. Here is what transpired.

Mayhem: What’s your greatest accomplishment as a football player?

Aiden: I think either getting 2nd team all-area last year or getting 2nd team all-league running back my sophomore year and playing both ways. I didn’t get any kind of pre-season or training camp and I didn’t even learn running back until week 2. I ended up getting 7tds in 4 games.

Mayhem: What’s a time you can remember of when you overcame adversity as a football player?

Aiden: This offseason I broke my wrist snowboarding, and I couldn’t lift for months. I refocused into doing more plyos/speed work to get faster and more explosive.

Mayhem: Do you have experience playing other sports? If so, what’s your favorite sport besides football?

Aiden: I played basketball my whole life and stopped after freshman year. It was a very hard decision to choose basketball or football, but I think I made the right one.

Mayhem: What are your future plans after high school?

Aiden: I debate on playing football or not in college. I’ve been talking to some D3 schools, but I’ve also applied to bigger state schools if I don’t play.

Mayhem: Do you have a pregame routine? If so, what is it?

Aiden: Yes. After we have team dinner, I always gotta go to the bathroom. Then I always stretch and roll out before I get taped. I listening to chill music pregame, calm before the storm kind of thing. I always say a prayer right before we walk up.

Mayhem: What feelings arise when thinking about playing UD again in a rematch of last year?

Aiden: We know they aren’t happy. We know they want revenge. They aren’t gonna get it.

Mayhem: If you win on Friday night, who you guys bumpin in the locker room after?

Aiden: Dancing in the moonlight- Toploader

Mayhem: What advice would you give incoming freshman when it comes to your playing experience?

Aiden: It’s kind of cliche but be the hardest worker in the room. Never let anyone outwork you. I pride myself on that, and if you put in the work, winning and college coaches will find you. Also, learn as much as possible and pay attention when coaches are talking. Never make the same mistake twice.
