Final: Plymouth Whitemarsh defeats Wissahickon 57-7

It was another game of struggles for the Trojans. Plymouth Whitemarsh defeated Wissahickon 57-7. Sophomore #17 Aiden DeFeo got the start tonight for the Trojans, his second of the year. Junior Nick Santo was not available due to a lingering shoulder injury that he’d been dealing with since week 1.

There was no run game for Wiss despite the return of Jalen Smalls, who missed last week’s game due to an ankle injury. He fumbled a ball in the first half. The Trojans first points did not come until the first play of the 4th quarter when DeFeo hit receiver Brandon Gilliard Jr. for a 51-yard touchdown pass down the middle of the field.

Despite the final score, compared to last week, there were a lot of improvements for the Trojans offense. They had a bit more success moving the ball especially in the passing game.

Coach Fleming said, “DeFeo had a nice week of practice.” DeFeo is young, and his only playing experience as come from this year. He is learning the motions game by game.

It will be interesting to see where this Wissahickon team goes from here. There are still a lot of question marks, including that quarterback position. They are home next week against Hatboro Horsham.

Be on the lookout for a “mid season wrap up” of the Wissahickon Trojans season coming next week!
