Warrington- Losing to a rival you were sure to beat sometimes can linger a bit & for most leave a sour taste in their mouth. Last week North Penn fell to CB West, and nobody saw that coming. Fast forward to last night as the first quarter got underway, and it seemed that loss was still lingering a bit over the Knights. Their first possession was thwarted by the Titan defense. With 7:25 left in the first quarter Central Bucks South Junior running back No. 23 Corey Moore jolted past the North Penn defense from 10-yards out to take a 7-0 lead after the PAT from Junior K No. 90 Nick Esterly was good.

On the ensuing kickoff Senior WR No. 23 Yazeed Haynes (committed to University of Georgia) had enough and took the rock 92-yards to the house.

After the PAT from Sophomore K No. 39 Ryan Bocklet we were all tied up at 7 a piece. One thing was clear at that moment, the tide had shifted in favor of the Knights and the sideline erupted. The quarter ended with the score knotted at 7.

A couple of minutes later as the second quarter played out Junior running back No. 24 Dave Dawes plowed his way in from 1-yard out.

After the PAT from Bocklet connected again with 9:44 left in the half the lead was extended to 14-7. 4 minutes later with 5:26 left to go Dawes found himself 2-yards out and he leapt forward plunging into the endzone for a second score.

The Ryan Bocklet PAT was good, and the Knights took a commanding 21-7 lead. South would put the pressure on in the final seconds of the half and march all the way down to the 1-yard line, but the North Penn defense wasn’t having it and stopped them heading into the half with the score still 21-7.

In the 3rd quarter with 7:46 left Senior QB No. 18 Ryan Zeltt hit Haynes for a 14-yard Touchdown.  After the PAT was good the score extended to 28-7. CB South wasn’t going down without a fight. With 7:05 left in the 3rd, standing at the 50-yard line, and down 3 scores Senior QB No. 1 Brett Szarko dropped a dime to Senior WR No. 15 Tommy Donnelly who took the pass to the house and cut the lead to 28-14 after the PAT from Esterly was good.

Not to be outshined, QB Ryan Zelt scampered to his right and heaved a pass downfield into the falling arms of his favorite target Yazeed Haynes for a spectacular catch which set up big Dave Dawes from the 1-yard line.

The very next play Dawes dove in from a yard out to cap off a 3-score evening.

The PAT was good, and the score was 35-14 with 4:01 left to play in the 3rd quarter. The North Penn Defense lead by non-other than No. 24 Dave Dawes just kept coming up with stops when they needed it the most.

The 4th quarter was relatively quiet for the Knights, but some reserves got into the game which allowed the Titans to move the ball. South tried to claw its way back and ran down the field and with :40 left to go in regulation Junior RB No. 23 Corey Moore scored from 6-yards out.

The PAT was good, and the score sat at 35-21.  South tried for an onside kick but was unsuccessful and North Penn lined up in victory formation to run out the clock.
