When Steve Lennox announced his retirement in January the Interboro community found themselves in unfamiliar territory having to find a new head football coach for the first time in almost three decades. On March 27, the Interboro Athletic Department announced that they named Dennis Lux Head Coach. The Interboro School board officially approved the hire of April 1.

Lux a 2005 graduate of the school grew up two blocks away from the South Avenue Athletic Complex and played quarterback under Lennox. While he was at Interboro the Bucs won the Del Val Championship all four years.

Lux also is very familiar with the current Bucs having spent the previous two seasons has Head Coach of the Freshman team where they won 7 games each season. Prior to that he spent the better part of a decade coaching the Prospect Park Termites a feeder program to the Bucs. “They already know our philosophies the way we coach, We care more about the team than individual’s.” “They’ve seen it proven that we can win games that way.” Lux said of the current team.

When asked what was the drew him to want the job Lux said “I am Interboro since graduating from Temple (University) I’ve been giving back to the community helping with the Termites before taking over the Freshmen.” He added ‘’This job means so much to me and really is a dream come true.’’ Lux also added that he’s looking forward to carrying on Coach Lennox’s legacy. To help him that he’s bringing his best friend and Buc Legend Sean Wasson to be his defensive coordinator

The Lux era will begin August 22 when the Bucs travel to Oxford and take part in a tri scrimmage with Oxford and Octorara. The Bucs kick off their 2020 regular August 28 at Strath Haven
