If you came looking for a shootout, you’re in the wrong spot. One total touchdown was scored in the entire game and it came in the first drive of the game. Defense shined in the game with a total of three takeaways combined, two from Souderton and one from Council Rock South. When one side had a drive moving, the other stopped it. If there wasn’t a takeaway or turnover on downs, the teams were punting their legs off. Souderton punted last and gave CRS a shot to tie or win with one final drive.

“So we came out first, we came out, we knew what we wanted to do we knew we wanted to hit ’em hit ’em in the mouth and that’s what we did. I think we got a little lackadaisical and we thought we had, more than we had in the bag that kind of led to our letdown.” Ryan Sadowski said.

“I think that we definitely did not hit on all cylinders. We should’ve been up every time we had the in this first half. Mental mistakes, going offsides, losing the football, it wasn’t a good offensive game. Our defense pitched a shut out which is awesome and we got one of the best defenses around.” Sadowski said.

The lone score from Souderton came from Ryan Sadowski on the first drive two minutes and thirty-four seconds into the game. A nineteen-yard rushing touchdown that put them on the board early into the game was the difference maker. Sadowski came close to scoring a second time and making it a two-score game. A fumble in the third on the two-yard line recovered by Thomas Gallagher put CRS on their one and made the Souderton drive scoreless.

“That’s my first fumble of the season in such a pivotal game, I mean I think that as a captain that’s totally my fault. I came to the sideline and told everyone that’s my fault and I knew what I had to do and I knew that we had to just stick it out and finish this game.” Sadowski said.

With the shutout on defense for Souderton, the star of the game goes to Timmy Meehan with two picks and the game-sealing interception. The first pick came in the third quarter with 6:54 in the third. Meehan jumped the crossing route to snag the ball and get his first pick of the game. His second and most crucial interception came in the final moments of the game. With fifty-eight seconds remaining in the game and CRS driving down the field all the way to the opposite forty-five-yard line, jumping yet another route, an out route to the sideline, and snagging the ball sealing the win. Souderton took home the victory and stays undefeated for another week.

“I saw it was three by two so we were in cover four, he ran an out route, just broke on it and got the ball,” Meehan said.

Souderton stays undefeated and heads back home to take on Upper Dublin for a revenge game. Last year UD showed no mercy beating down Souderton 34-3. With a departure of talent and an improved Souderton team, Souderton has this game circled down. “It’s at home next week. We haven’t lost at home in like four years so it’s not gonna happen next week,” Meehan said. “We got Upper Dublin at home, we don’t lose at home, we haven’t lost at home in four years. This a big game for us, this is our homecoming game and I can promise we’re not gonna lose at home.” Sadowski said. Souderton is very confident in next week against UD, should be a good game to watch.
