The Midway point of football is here, and it came fast. Wissahickon’s first drive pretty much showed how the entire game would end up going for them. They quickly went three and put forcing them to have to punt setting Upper Dublin’s first drive up at the 45. It only took them four rushing plays before they were able to get the first score of the game. A 5-yard rushing touchdown by #31 Dominick Paone. Upper Dublin would already start the game up 7-0 with 7:31 in the first quarter.

Coming into this game, most people already knew that Upper Dublin would most likely come over to Wissahickon and beat them to a pulp. One play into Wissahickon’s second drive Dominick struck again, this time on the defensive side of the ball. 16 seconds after the touchdown happened, Dominick was able to get an Interception that would set up Upper Dublin at the 29-yard line with 7:15 left in the 1st quarter.

Not too long after the interception, Upper Dublin would soon be able to get their second touchdown of the game. #10 Tawfig Bartlett would be able to get a 1-yard rushing touchdown that would end up extending the lead to 14-0 with 5:41 in the first quarter. Sadly for Wissahickon, this would not have been the last touchdown that Upper Dublin scored in the first.

Wissahickon’s offense just did not seem to get any better. No matter what play was called Wissahickon would have no chance at getting anything to work for them. Runs would be stuffed in the backfield, passes would be overthrown. Their third drive ended in a punt. Upper Dublin would start at the 47, after a flag pushed them back after a play, they struck again with a big pass. One play later Quarterback Colin O’Sullivan would find Wide Reciever Dievanni Cerisier on a slant for 15 yards and the touchdown. Upper Dublin soon would push to lead up to 21 with 3:32 in the first.

To start off Wissahickon’s next drive, yet again Dominick Paone would get his second interception of the night. Upper Dublin seemed to be in full control on both sides of the ball. Upper Dublin would take over at Wissahickon’s 17-yard line with 3:12 still remaining in the first quarter of play.

Only after a flag had been thrown down off a run, #2 Djevanni Cerisier would get his 2nd touchdown of the night off a 23-yard passing touchdown. Upper Dublin would yet again push the lead up to a demanding 28-0 with 2:19 still in the quarter. Just off kickoff Wissahickon would fumble the ball again setting up Upper Dublin at the 32. They would move the ball to the 10 before the end of the quarter up 28-0. One play into the 2nd quarter, Upper Dublin would get a 10-yard rushing touchdown by #7 Nyfise Mcintyre with 11:53 up 35-0.

There would be no more scores in the second quarter between either team. But there would be four different turnovers between both teams. To no surprise, Wissahickon would be the first of the quarter. Their drive looked like it may actually get a score for the game moving all the way down to the 1-yard line. After being pushed back to the 3, Wissahickon would have a bad handoff that upper Dublin would soon grab the ball at the 5-yard line with 7:58 in the half.

Upper Dublin would fumble the ball right back over only two plays later. The Ball would have been ripped out and bounced a few yards forward before Wissahickon would take the ball right back over and take over possession at the Twenty-Five with 7:20 remaining in the half. On a third down, Dominick would yet again make plays on defense. He would get his third interception of the half setting up Upper Dublin at the 3 with 5:43 in the half.

The fourth and final turnover or big play of the half would come off a string from #34 Max Pester. He would have peanut punch the ball out of the hands of Upper Dublin and would cause the ball to go out of the back of the endzone to set up Wissahickon at the 20-yard line with 2:40 remaining in the half. The half would end later on with an Upper Dublin knee. They would get the ball to start the second half.

By the start of the second half, Upper Dublin had pulled starters and put their JV team in. The running clock would have also been activated now at this point of the game. Upper Dublin would have the ball the entire third quarter, with only runs they would have moved all the way down the field into a scoring position which is exactly what they did. Upper Dublin’s backups would have scored the sixth touchdown of the game for them. On fourth and, eleven Upper Dublin would have a 30-yard rushing touchdown by #30 Scott Montgomery with 17.1 seconds left. They would unfortunately miss the extra point to only give them the 41-0 lead.

Wissahickon would close the third down 41-0 with the ball. To open the 4th quarter Wissahickon would Fumble the ball at their own nine, which let again Upper Dublin would capitalize on. Upper Dublin would take over the ball at the 12 with 11:53 in the game. On a fourth and four, #30 Scott Montgomery would get his second touchdown of the day off a 5-yard rushing touchdown to push the lead further to 47-0 with 9:19 left in the game.

At this point, both JV teams were in the game and nothing else was to happen the rest of the day. Upper Dublin ended the game getting their 5th straight win winning 47-0. I got the chance to talk with Wide Reciever #2 Djevanni Cerisier after the game. He thanked his coaches and his teammates while keeping his head in the game after a bad performance last week with a couple of drops. He said the biggest source of the 5-game-win streak was good practices and everyone staying together. He only mentioned that all they need to fix for the upcoming weeks is work on ball control with too many fumbles in the game against Wissahickon. Upper Dublin (5-0) will move on Council Rock North (1-3) while Wissahickon (0-5) will play Springfield Montco (3-1) next Friday.
