I’m really hoping things change quickly. Really, I want the Vikings of Upper Merion to play this year. They were on my “return trip in 2020” list.  Why? This team returns one of the best lines I saw all last year. Two weeks ago, Stefano Nikolaou made his commitment to Dickinson.  Yesterday, Justin Fisher made his choice for college football.  He’ll head to Bucknell and play in the famous Christy Mathewson Stadium. (yes, I’m biased, it’s my favorite campus).  Justin announced his pick Saturday on twitter:

We caught up with him to ask him about his decision:

PFN: How long have you played football? *

Justin: Since I was 7 years old

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Bison? *

Justin: I really liked the energy from the coaches and sense of family within the team. The academic side of school also matched perfectly for what I was looking for.

PFN: Why commit early/commit to them? *

Justin: I feel like Bucknell was the best fit for me early on and proved everything I needed in both school and football.

PFN: Who was your biggest influence at Bucknell, who recruited you? *

Justin: Coach Bracken for sure because of his energy that he brings and his true excitement and joy for the game and everything around it.

PFN: What are they getting in player like you? *

Justin: They are getting a coachable player that is hungry and energetic who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you? *

Justin: It’s has been interesting being able to talk to people from all around and being able to see and experience new things and what the world and different places have to offer.

PFN: How did the Covid 19 pandemic affect your decision? *

Justin: At the end of the day it only played a small role in my decision. The team is what really drove me to commit there.

PFN: What position were you recruited for? *

Justin: Defense end

PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study? *

Justin: Exercise science

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision? *

Justin: They played a big role and really focused me on what was important in a school

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the Bucknell program? *

Justin: The culture of the team is strong and growing and looking to do big things in the near future.

PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for the Bison? *

Justin: Continuing to create a winning culture and building a strong team that can compete with the best.

PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them: *

Justin: I absolutely hated football when I first started playing and didn’t enjoy it that much until 8th grade.

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career? *

Justin: My dad because he always pushed me to be better as a athlete and a person. He made me who I am today.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person? *

Justin: I’m going to definitely miss all of you guys and the time we had together. To my other senior teammates I know that this was supposed to be our season and now that it might get taken away but not matter what you guys are my brother for life and irreplaceable. To the fans just a big thank you for always supporting the team through our ups and downs.
