Streak Still going: Despite receiving a scare from Haverford last week with their 14-13 victory over the Fords the Garnet Valley Jaguars Central League Winning streak is currently standing at 46 games. This week the Jags will take a break from the Central League schedule when they host Inter Ac power Haverford School
Conquering the Knights: In his first season at the helm of the Chichester Eagles Head Coach Chris Craig had his team do something that hasn’t been done since 2006: defeat Del-Val rival Academy Park. The Eagles went on the road and took the Knights 34-26
Air Zollers: In the first four games of the season Spring-Ford Quarterback Matt Zollers has completed 68.4 percent of his passes while averaging throwing for 287.3 yards per game for the 3-1 Rams. Zollers also has already thrown for 16 touchdowns. Mason Scott leads the Rams in receiving yards with 124 per game.
Wissahickon Off to a Running Start: For the first time since 2006 the Wissahickon Trojans are off to a 4-0 start. A main reason for the Trojans’ success has been their ground which entering play last week was averaging 264.3 rushing yards and 4.6 rushing touchdowns per game.
Change of Venue for WC East-Chester: Due to the forecasted heavy rains on Saturday morning the game between West Chester East and Chester will now be played on the turf at West Chester East with kickoff still being at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Still Unbeaten: This week marks the midway point of the regular season and so far 10 teams in District 1 have yet to experience a loss this season in 6A CB West Downingtown West, Downingtown East Souderton CB South Wissahickon and Owen J Roberts. In 5A Strath Haven and West Chester Rustin are all unbeaten and they are joined by Pope John II the 4A. In District 12 Imhotep, George Washington and Bartam, and Kipp Dubois are the only perfect teams left.
A Rest Week for the Hawks: After playing a non-league schedule that included National Powers IMG Academy, Lakeland Florida, and Don Bosco Prep the 3-1 and top-ranked St Joseph’s Prep Hawks are enjoying a bye week. They return to action next Saturday when they take on Archbishop Wood.
