What the heck’s happening in District’s I & XII this week: Week 9,2022

Hello and welcome to Week4 of What’s happening in District I & XII! Let’s look at what happened last week weekend and look ahead to this weekend.

Garnet Valley Helping Local Children’s Hospital

Thanks to a scheduling change in the Central League this season the Garnet Valley Jaguars are enjoying a bye week this weekend. While they aren’t playing anyone on the field the Jaguars are doing some good in their community as this Wednesday and Thursday, they are accepting donations of new Halloween costumes for children at AI DuPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington. Donations can be dropped at the school’s weightroom between the hours of 3-5 pm.

Finally Back Home

For the first time in two years thanks to renovations the Radnor Raptors will be playing a home game at Prevost field when the Raptors host the Conestoga Pioneers. Kick off is scheduled Saturday at 12 noon.

Party Like It’s 1996

Last Friday nights 44-34 victory marked the first time the Pennsbury Falcons knocked off North Penn since 1996. The Falcons were carried to victory by Galamama Mulbah who carried the ball a whopping 48 times for 364 yards and four touchdowns. Since dropping their opening game to Coatesville the Falcons have rolled off 7 consecutive victories.

Rama Rolling for Springfield Delco

The Springfield Delco Cougars have rolled off three consecutive victories and one of the major reasons for the winning streak has been the play of Senior QB Jake Rama. In the past three games Rama has completed 21 of 26 passes for 376 yards 4 touchdowns in addition to another touchdown on the ground. Earlier this season, Rama surpassed 3,000 career passing yards.

Milestone for Coatesville Susi

In Coatesville victory over Bishop Shanahan last Friday Red Raider Quarterback Harrison Susi became a member of the 3000 career passing yards/2000 career rushing yards club.

First Career Victory for O’Hara’s Ewing

With Friday’s 14-12 over rival Archbishop Carroll the Cardinal O’Hara Lions snapped a 19 game losing streak and gave Head Coach Mike Ewing his first career victory.

Join our own Billy Splain and several of our staff next Wednesday October 26 from 6-9 at Magerks in Horsham for our annual Playoff Preview Show. Several members of our staff will be making appearances along with guests from Pennsbury, Souderton, Upper Dublin and CB East.

Playoffs Starting to take shape

We are just two weeks away from the start of District 1 Playoffs and based on the district 1 website there would be several traditional names missing from the playoffs in 6A North Penn, Pennridge and Haverford are all on the outside looking in. In 5A the traditional powers Academy Park and Unionville would miss out on the tournament. In 6A the matchups would be not counting tie breakers for seeding
