What does your offense need to improve on from last year?
We want to be able to be more balance running and throwing the football. We were a very heavy run team last year with a very good offensive line and skill positions. This year we have to be able to throw the ball to keep teams from loading the box. In order for us to be successful offensively, we need the new guys up front to step up and be ready for Friday nights. We could be very young up front, but will they be ready for Friday nights.
What does your defense need to improve on from last year
We need to be able to get off the field on 3rd down. Last year we had a very good defensive front and we were able to play the run game with 3 defensive linemen. This year we need to find 3 guys to replace them and do what is expected of them. We have 2 linebackers returning with a third one moving positions, we need to find the other linebacker. We also lost 2 3 year starters in the secondary, one was the quarterback of our defense. Who is going to step up and take control of our secondary and entire defense.
What are your overall thoughts on this years team?
Special Teams – Nathaniel has been our kicker for 3 years now. He has gotten better every year and this year will be no exception. Our keys for this year is going to be will our loses up front be filled. It is going to be a physical camp where we find out who can fill the jobs that we have lost. When you lose 4-5 positions of 3 year starters, we are going to play some inexperienced players. How fast can they pick up on the speed and physical play on Friday nights.
