The 2020 season was a memorable one for the Harborcreek Huskies. A 7-1 record and an exciting playoff win over Meadville before falling to Oil City in the District 10 4A title game brought plenty of excitement to the high school and surrounding community.

Though continued success is the goal in 2021, the Huskies will highlight less experienced players stepping into key roles. Harborcreek lost 16 starters due to graduation, so the team will be relying on plenty of inexperienced players, especially on offense with only three returning starters.

Last year, the Huskies were a pass-heavy team, but with quarterback Casey Smith graduated, this year, Harborcreek will be relying more on its run game. Therefore, the returning two starters on the offensive line, along with running back Cameron Williamson, will be the key to the Huskie’s offense.

“Our offense utilizes great offensive line play and running the ball,” head coach Troy Budziszewski said. “A solid run game opens up other options.”

Due to the graduation of so many players, there are clear questions as to whether it will be a rebuilding year for the Huskies. But, because of Harborcreek’s recent success, it wouldn’t be surprising if the 2021 team puts the pieces together to make another playoff run in D10.
