Nolan Carey is hoping for a winning season. If he can put together a good season like he did last year, that goal can be reached. His numbers above show he has the skills, his film does too.  Carey was an all Region QB in 2022 with a 4.09 GPA. That being said, let’s get to know a little bit more about this three sport athlete:

Why do you play football?

I play football because I love being apart of a team. I think teams sports are very important in life in general. It’s like no other sport, the team bonding and the skills you learn are way different from other sports.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

I’d say I’m a big fan of Peyton Manning, he was a great quarterback for the Colts and The Broncos. Also, he did things for his community and helped out a ton with foundations and organizations.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

My favorite play that I remember most was the throw I threw to Tony Brutcher in the D10 4A class championship against Meadville. It was one of my best throws and Air really stick out of what I can be capable of.

What was last years season like for you?

It was full of highs and lows. It was my first year starting as a varsity quarterback. The beginning of the year was a little slow, but towards the end I started to understand the concepts more and execute the offense.

What are your goals for this coming season?

I want to try and reach 2,000 pass yards. Also, it would be great to see a winning record.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

I’d have to say Khalon Simmons, he was a great athlete who played for Meadville.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I’d love to visit SoFi stadium, they’re the home of the LA Chargers. It’s a beautiful stadium.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

My favorite pro team would have to be the Pittsburgh Steelers.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

I loved watching Penn State play Ohio State in football. I loved it because of the two great teams. And I’m a big Penn State fan.

What would you do to improve the recruiting process?

I’d try and reach out to more college coaches and send them my highlight reel.

Describe what the perfect teammate is

I think a perfect teammate is the guy who sacrifices himself for the team, not just for him. Follows the rules, and doesn’t play dirty.

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community

Football is good for a community because it can shows how people can come together and do great things.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

I’d love to throw for 3,000 yds in a season, it’s do-able, but it’s not easy.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

I want to be like my father, he’s a good guy and is easy going. He’s nice and doesn’t treat anybody wrong. He may be strict, but there is always a reason behind it.

What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?

My favorite practice drill is called The Box Drill. My least favorite drill is condo.

I’m probably at school. On weekends I try to find things to do, or just relax.
