Coach Says: River is a long, strong kid at 6’5 and has grown so much on and off the field since our staff arrived at Girard. He is getting some traction in recruiting circles and is looking for a breakout season.
Why do you play football?
I love being a part of a team that brings the community together. And of course it’s fun to hit other players!
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Ray Lewis because I’m a Ravens fan and I love that he was all for winning
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Sophomore year I had a punt block touchdown on our homecoming to tie up the game and give us momentum. We eventually won!
What was last years season like for you?
Very fun to play with the group of guys we had and play in my very first playoff game was awesome.
What are your goals for this coming season?
I want 500+ receiving yards and 8+ touchdowns
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Kelvin Morrison, running back from hickory
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
Ravens vs Browns 2020. Ravens won 47-42 in a Monday night thriller
Describe what the perfect teammate is
A leader that wants nothing more than to win, but is also flashy about the big plays they make
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
Football brings communities together like no other sport. Watching your highschool team play on a Friday night is an experience like no other.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Throw a touchdown pass
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My Mom and Dad both. They are perfect parents and are my role models for how I want to be.
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
Favorite – 7 on 7 least favorite- tackling dummy

My twin brother because he wants to see me better myself in life

Golfing because I love it!
